UCW is a union of all campus workers: staff, faculty, and student workers, full or part-time. We work together to make Murray a better workplace and, with chapters across the state, to make positive change in the commonwealth.

Kentucky Center for Economic Policy (KyPolicy) and the United Campus Workers of Kentucky, Communications Workers of America (UCW-CWA) are surveying public higher education employees to inform statewide efforts to improve working and learning conditions. This survey asks a series of questions that will take approximately 6 minutes to complete. The data in this survey will be aggregated for use in KyPolicy and UCW-CWA's legislative advocacy, reports, press releases, and other communications. Individual responses with identifying information will not be shared. We appreciate your support of efforts to improve public higher education in Kentucky!

To celebrate the delivery of the petition to the President and the end of the academic year, we’re going to have a celebration and worker solidarity event at Wit’s End Records. We are going to chat about next steps and hear from Murray City Council Member, Wesley Bolin. Please join us!

As Murray State University staff, faculty and student workers, we believe that Racers shouldn’t finish last. We shouldn’t finish last in academic excellence; we shouldn’t finish last in student support; and we shouldn’t finish last in worker compensation. Instead, as President Patterson said at the March 10 budget town hall, Racers should lead from the front.
Our petition asks to: stop the slide (real COLAs), raise the floor ($15 minimum wage on campus), and set the pace (reevaluate salary study toward living wage for all campus workers).
