ACDC President Speaks with ABC4 Utah 🇳🇵🇺🇸

Asian Community Development Center (ACDC) President Sunil Pandey spoke with ABC4 Utah about the devastating Nepal–Tibet flash flood, its impact on families, and how Utah’s Nepali community is coming together during this difficult time.

We are pleased to share that Asian Community Development Center is now an official community engagement partner for the ASPIRE Cohort Study at the UCSF University of California, San Francisco.

The ASPIRE Study is a long-term research study focused on advancing Asian American health and learning more about possible causes of cancer in Asian American communities.

Through this partnership, Asian Community Development Center will help raise awareness, share trusted study information, and support community engagement so eligible community members can learn more directly through the official ASPIRE Study website.

Who may be eligible?

Asian or Asian American, including multiracial individuals
Age 40–75
Currently living in the U.S. or U.S. territories
Not diagnosed with cancer

We’re proud to spotlight Ksh*tij Rijal, who leads ACDC’s programs and community outreach connecting Utah’s Asian and immigrant communities with cultural, health, and educational resources.

A web developer by profession, Ksh*tij brings both technical skills and a deep commitment to community service to everything he does. He’s also multilingual, speaking Nepali, Hindi, and English a gift that helps him meet our community members where they are.

ACDC is a Utah-based nonprofit founded in 2026 with a mission centered on Health, Knowledge, and Belonging. 🎶 Music, Mental Well-Being, and Cultural Belonging

The Asian Community Development Center was honored to support and participate in yesterday’s Bhajan Saajh, organized by NRN NCC UTAH Nrna Ncc Utah

Bhajan is more than devotional music. It creates a peaceful space for reflection, reduces emotional stress, strengthens social connection, and brings people together through shared faith, music, and tradition. For immigrant communities, cultural gatherings like this can also provide a deep sense of belonging and connection to home.

Preserving our cultural roots is especially important for younger generations growing up away from their ancestral homeland. Through music, language, traditions, and community participation, we help ensure that our cultural identity continues to be understood, valued, and passed forward.

We sincerely thank NRNA NCC USA Utah Chapter, all performers, volunteers, and community members who made this meaningful event possible. We are grateful that the Asian Community Development Center could be part of an evening that supported mental well-being, cultural preservation, and community connection.
