Asian Community Development Center (ACDC) is proud to be a community partner and sponsor of the Grand Dashain Celebration 2026, hosted by the Nepalese Student Association at Weber State University!

We believe cultural celebrations help students stay connected to their roots, share traditions with younger generations, and build a sense of belonging. This program brings Nepali/Asian heritage to the wider community through tika and jamara, traditional dances, songs, and Nepali cuisine.

We provided nearly three tons of food and essential relief supplies, valued at NPR 489,627, ($3,223) 20 families affected by the Bhote Koshi floods in Nepal.

The assistance supports 18 families staying and sharing meals at the temporary shelter in Pipaltar, Ward No. 5, Bidur Municipality, along with two additional families. The supplies are expected to last approximately 1.5–2 months and include rice, potatoes, lentils, cooking oil, chickpeas, soybeans, biscuits, instant noodles, spices, sugar, salt, soap, and tea.

The relief materials were handed over to Ward Secretary Mr. Krishna Hari Gajurel and the temporary shelter coordinator for distribution.

We sincerely thank our Nepal Coordinator, Mr. Bishnu Lamichhane, for coordinating this humanitarian effort. We are also deeply grateful to all our donors and supporters whose generosity made this assistance possible.

The Asian Community Development Center (ACDC) team is loaded with essential food relief supplies and is now heading to the flood-affected communities in Nuwakot, Nepal. Our team is working closely with local government authorities to coordinate the safe and effective distribution of relief materials to families and individuals impacted by the disaster.
We are committed to ensuring that assistance reaches those who need it most.

We’re pleased to share that Sunil Pandey, President of the Asian Community Development Center (ACDC), has received the 2026 Silver National Service Honor in recognition of his commitment to community service, leadership, and volunteerism.

Through his leadership at ACDC, NRNA NCC USA Utah Chapter Sunil works alongside volunteers and community partners to support families, bring people together, and help those in need.

Nepal Flood Relief Distribution Update

Our relief distribution in Devighat, Bidur Municipality, was scheduled for today. Unfortunately, continuous rainfall made the affected area inaccessible, and our team was unable to safely reach the distribution site.

Rain is expected to continue for the next few days in Nepal. We will closely monitor the situation and provide an update as soon as the rain stops and travel to the area becomes safe.

Approximately 300 flood-affected households are currently reported in the area, including families staying at holding centers at Chandra Jyoti Secondary School in Pipaltar and the Ayurvedic Hospital in Devighat. The exact number of affected and missing households has not yet been confirmed, and local authorities are continuing to collect information.

Our relief materials are ready, and members of the Asian Community Development Center will distribute them as soon as conditions allow. The photos below show some of the devastation in the affected area.

We appreciate everyone’s patience, prayers, and continued support for the families affected by this disaster.

Asian Community Development Center was honored to attend the University of Utah Health Plans Community Partners Meeting.

This invitation represents more than participation in a meeting it gives Utah’s Asian populations stronger voice in conversations about healthcare access, education, and community well-being.

By connecting with healthcare professionals and fellow community organizations, we can better understand available resources, share the challenges our communities face, and help address barriers related to language, culture, health coverage, and navigating the healthcare system.

Meaningful partnerships like this help ensure that healthcare programs are informed by the real experiences of the people they are designed to serve. They also bring us closer to a future where every family can access trusted, culturally responsive care and the support needed to thrive.

We are grateful to University of Utah Health Plans for bringing community partners together and recognizing the importance of collaboration. Asian Community Development Centerlooks forward to continuing this work and advocating for healthier, stronger, and more connected communities across Utah.
