Muncie's Arts Partner—Home of the Mayor's Arts Awards, Public Art, BoxBox!, PlySpace Residency, you, and more!

The Muncie Arts and Culture Council is the official "Arts Partner" for the City of Muncie. As Arts Partner, we integrate the arts into municipal initiatives that involve Economic Development and Quality of Place. As an arts alliance, we strive to build community among artists and arts organizations, and be a resource that enables professional growth and opportunity.

The Muncie Arts and Culture Council, in partnership with The Center for Business and Economic Research at Ball State University, invites you to participate in a survey about the work and experiences of individuals and organizations involved in arts, culture, and creative activity in Muncie and Delaware County. Whether creativity is your full-time profession, part of your business or organization, a side gig, or something you pursue outside of another job, we want to hear from you.

Have a creative arts-related idea you'd like to put into action in our community? Read on!

The Indiana Arts Commission is now accepting applications for the On-Ramp Creative Entrepreneur Accelerator.

On-Ramp is a three-day in-person intensive entrepreneurship and community engagement workshop with the opportunity to apply for up to $2,000 in fellowship funding to put the training into action.

The Southern Indiana workshop is co-hosted by the IU Center for Rural Engagement and Pillar Arts.

Thank you to the Ball Brothers Foundation for their support of the Muncie Arts and Culture Council's operations with a $25,000 grant. We extend our congratulations to the other arts and culture grant recipients, including Cornerstone Center for the Arts, Minnetrista Museum & Gardens, Muncie Civic Theatre, and Orchestra Indiana, and to all the organizations that will benefit our community!

This fall, Ball Brothers Foundation has awarded $5.1 million in grants. This Friday, there will be a choral performance of the Middletown Chronicles. Here are the details:

Friday, October 30, 2026, 7:30-8:45pm
Muncie Central High School, 801 N. Walnut Street

Ball State’s University Choral Union and Muncie’s Masterworks Chorale, plus faculty orchestra and alumni soloists, will perform a cantata commissioned in 2016 with texts from Muncie residents over the last century, collected by the Center for Middletown studies, set to music reflecting the many aspects of life in the Midwest. This performance will also include the world premiere of music by Eleanor Trawick that extends the cantata to reflect on the last decade: the pandemic, immigration, and the solar eclipse, among other things. For me this is a beautiful example of intergenerational creativity and music with a strong sense of place. The music presents a full spectrum of the human experience: joy and loss, work and play, doubt and faith.

You are invited to our FREE concert, "Middletown Chronicles: The Making of Middletown, America," at 7:30 pm at Muncie Central High School! This concert will be performed in collaboration with the Ball State University Choral Union.
