Somewhere between illustration, chemistry, and ancient alchemy lies this Thursday's workshop at MadJax. ✨

Drawing with Glass Ink is not your average art class. You'll mix paint from ground glass and pigment powder, draw on clear glass with a dipping pen, and then send your finished piece into a kiln to be permanently fused.

No experience required — just bring a 4×6 black-and-white line drawing and show up ready to make something genuinely beautiful.

Thursday, June 18 | 5–7 PM | MadJax, 515 E. Main St., Muncie

$15 members / $35 guests | Ages 12+

Paint on glass using a dipping pen and a custom, ink-like paint made from ground glass and pigments. Trace a black-and-white line drawing onto clear glass, then have your piece kiln-fired to make it permanent. Finished work will be ready for pickup after firing.

Are you tired of wearing shirts that say nothing about your personality? Same.

Come to Cricut: Custom Vinyl Tees at MadJax on Wednesday, June 17th (6–8 PM) and fix that. You'll learn to design, cut, and press your very own custom t-shirts using heat-transfer vinyl — and yes, you get to make TWO shirts, because one is never enough.

No experience needed. No judgment. Just you, a Cricut machine, and finally the chance to wear the shirt you've been describing to people at parties.

Our power has been restored! The Guardian Brewing Co. is opening at 3:00 pm and the Maker Space is closed until tomorrow. Otherwise, business as usual. Look for updates from our members about their operations before heading to the building.

Power outage or not, a few of our small business members still had work to do today, and we were glad to keep the doors open for them. Our Executive Director spent the morning on site helping members stay connected and serving their customers.

MadJax is currently experiencing a power outage affecting our building. Before heading downtown, please check directly with any businesses, tenants, or organizations you plan to visit to confirm their status and hours.

A special thank you to Sandy, our Building Operations Manager, for helping secure and close the building safely during the storm. We appreciate her quick response and dedication to keeping our tenants and member safe.

Big news for June First Thursday at Cornerstone Center for the Arts and MadJax!

We've received final approval to close Main Street between our buildings from 5:00–8:00 p.m. tomorrow. This means it will be even easier to explore both of our spaces and everything in between - literally! We're excited about this partnership and the energy it will bring to the east side of downtown Muncie.

Join us as we celebrate the Muncie Public Library's Big Read Celebration, including a community conversation at 6:00 p.m. at Cornerstone Center for the Arts. Along Main Street, enjoy a delicious coffee treat from Pretty Little Cafeor a tasty dirty soda from Rainbolt Sips.

All of this is in addition to the creative activities already happening at MadJax, including new artwork by Deb Dragoo in TOOLSONG Gallery and the Courtyard Summer Concert Series with The Guardian Brewing Co., featuring Matt Osborne and food from The Dog Show.

We're celebrating one month since Molly Warnes Schaller joined MadJax as our first-ever Maker Space Director, and we’re already so grateful for the leadership, energy, and care she has brought to the role.

In just a few short weeks, Molly has jumped in with thoughtfulness, curiosity, and a genuine passion for helping people create. She has already begun strengthening systems, supporting staff, building relationships with members, and finding ways to make our Maker Space even more welcoming and connected.

One of the things we appreciate most about Molly is how naturally she builds community. She lights up when helping others, asks thoughtful questions, and brings a calm, encouraging presence to every interaction. Whether she’s brainstorming new ideas, supporting instructors, or helping someone troubleshoot a project, it’s clear she cares deeply about people and the creative process.

Molly, thank you for the care, leadership, and heart you’ve already poured into MadJax. We’re excited for what’s ahead and grateful to have you on this journey with us. Help us celebrate Molly and her first month in the comments!
