Last week’s presenter was Mark Dance with Dance Plumbing & Mechanical, LLC. As a newer member and first-time presenter, Mark gave us a great introduction to both his business and himself personally. He shared more about the services Dance Plumbing offers, along with stories about his family, hobbies, and life outside of work, which helped us get to know him better beyond just business. We appreciate Mark taking the time to share with the group and look forward to continuing to learn more about him and his business!

A story from an open home ❤️

A sweet little girl walked through our doors quiet, scared, and unsure. Her eyes told a story no child should have to carry. She had walked a hard road filled with abuse and neglect. Every movement was cautious, every word careful, as if she was waiting for the moment she might do something wrong and get in trouble.

We gently told her she was safe here. That she didn’t have to be afraid anymore.

But words can only go so far when a child has been hurt. She needed to see it. She needed to feel it.

Little by little, her guard started to come down. She began to believe that maybe, just maybe, this house was different. That the people here truly wanted nothing more than to love her.

We asked her what she liked. After a moment, she shyly told us she loved Hello Kitty… and anything pink.

Not long before, some amazing ladies from a local quilters group had made a special Hello Kitty “Love Bug.” When we gave it to her, her face lit up in a way we hadn’t seen before.

Then she told us the only other thing she really wanted was a pink fuzzy blanket.

We didn’t have one at the house, so one of our volunteers headed to the store to buy it. As she walked down the aisle, she couldn’t believe her eyes.

There it was….

A pink fuzzy Hello Kitty blanket.

When the volunteer brought it back and placed it in her hands, our sweet girl had tears in her eyes. She hugged that blanket like it was the most precious thing in the world.

To some, it’s just a blanket.
But to her, it meant she was seen.
She was loved.
She mattered.

And to us, it was another reminder that our God never stops showing up for His children. He hasn’t forgotten them, not for a moment.

He cares about every single detail…

Last week, we heard from Mary Vannatta, the Delaware County Location Leader for Isaiah 117 House Delaware Co IN

When children are removed from their homes for their safety, they are often taken to the Department of Child Services office and may wait hours—or even days—for placement. During that time, many have nothing with them and are facing fear, uncertainty, and exhaustion.

Isaiah 117 House is working to change that.

Their mission is to provide a safe, welcoming home where children can go during this transition—a place filled with clean clothes, warm meals, toys, and caring volunteers who offer comfort during a difficult moment. It also allows caseworkers the time and space to focus on finding the best placement for each child.

There are many ways to get involved, from volunteering and organizing donations to cooking meals, supporting foster families, and helping spread awareness throughout the community.

Mary shared her heart for this mission and the impact it’s already making right here in Delaware County.
