Join us Sept 24, 5-7 pm for a tour of this small family farm 🐎

Explore a local nut, horse, and chicken farm (including historic filberts) with Skagit CD. Get to know the farmers and ask questions about practices including heavy use area protection, manure storage/composting, chore efficiency, and how to utilize our cost share program to improve your operation.

We had a blast at the 5th annual WWAA Farm Show last Saturday the 22nd! 🎈

What a wonderful way to connect with neighbors: A fleet of farm equipment, plenty of fun for adults and kids alike, and delicious food.

We were thrilled to promote our equipment share program with our community. We know how many barriers local farmers face. Skagit Conservation District is here to help!

We love Skagit's creatures 🐟 which is your fave?

These creatures all have something in common: our Skagit streams. Salmon, heron, and oysters all need cool, clean, and connected waterways for food, water, and shelter.

Our Stream Team citizen scientists collect water quality data that identifies if Skagit's beloved creatures have healthy homes and what sites need improvement.

Join our 2026-27 Stream Team in time for our trainings Sept 1st (6-8:30 pm), 3rd (6-8:30 pm), and 5th (9 am-1 pm)!

We need YOU for our Stream Team volunteer program❗️

Volunteer positions include field sampling, lab rats, and team leads. Volunteers can choose to commit as little as 2 hours or as much as 6 hours per month.

We hope to see you at our volunteer trainings Sept 1st and 3rd 6-8:30 pm and Sept 5th 9 am- 1 pm.

Remember to register for our upcoming Neighborhood Stormwater Systems Workshop and learn about the stormwater system in your own neighborhood, including who is responsible for maintenance and what can go wrong if not properly maintained (it can result in some serious problems!). Now is a great time to educate yourselves so that your neighborhood is prepared for the next stormy season!
