One week left until our Native Plant Sale preorders open Nov 6th! 🍁🍬

Start planning your order now with our plant menu and additional details on the Annual Plant Sale section of our events page.
This post includes all plant sale items, with tagged categories such as new 2026 items, pollinator friendly, fire resistant, and drought tolerant plants.

Preorder your plants November 6th and mark your calendars for order pickup on Sunday, March 14th between 9 am - 1 pm.

Our preorders open a little earlier this year because we hope to do a restock if we run low on some items.

It's hard to know what creepy things lurk in Skagit waterways👻

Have no fear, Stream Team is here and officially flowing!

As of this week, volunteer sorting, training sessions, and team shadowing are finally done. Now, each of our 19 Stream Teams are prepared to collect water quality from October 2026- June 2027.

Save the date for our Native Plant Sale! 🌱

Skagit Conservation District is opening our yearly plant sale a little earlier this year.

Our online store will open on Nov. 6th to purchase plants that will be available for pickup only on the scheduled March 2027 pickup day (Date to be determined).

We hope that if plants sell out early and there's enough demand for more, that we can refill stock thanks to earlier preorders.

Thanks to everyone that attended our final farm walk of the year! 🫶

23 community members showed up to explore pastures, meet animals, and admire the magical nut orchard at Lazy Squirrel Nut Farm.
A great horned owl even decided to stop by! Sadly, it's not pictured.

WSU extensions' livestock advisor Beth joined us and highlighted how we helped her install a heavy use area to help with mud and manure management.

Only a week left until our pasture walk on Sept 24! 🐎

Explore a local nut, horse, and chicken farm (including historic filberts) with Skagit CD. Get to know these Mount Vernon farmers and ask questions about practices including heavy use area protection, manure storage/composting, chore efficiency, and how to utilize our cost share program to improve your operation.
