Yesterday, our Mount Union family lost someone who was a familiar face on the sidelines, in the stands, and wherever Trojans were competing.

He wasn’t always someone who saw eye to eye with everyone. In fact, if you knew him, you knew he probably had an opinion about just about everything. But one thing nobody could ever question was how deeply he loved. He loved his family, his friends, his community, and he loved Mount Union sports as much as anyone we’ve ever known.

No matter the season, no matter the weather, no matter the score, he showed up. He supported our athletes, our teams, and our school with a passion that was impossible to miss.

His tragic passing is a heartbreaking reminder that life is fragile. Tomorrow is never promised. Tell people you love them. Forgive when you can. Show up for the people and places that matter to you. Don’t wait for the perfect time, because sometimes that time never comes.

Today, we mourn the loss of a loyal supporter and a member of our Trojan family. We extend our deepest condolences to his family and loved ones during this incredibly difficult time.

Rest easy, Russell Booher. Thank you for always showing up for Mount Union.
