We were honored to hear from author Dan Taylor this morning who told us the amazing story of native Nashville son and professional golfer Ted Rhodes.

In his book, “Out of the Rough: Ted Rhodes and His Fight Against Golf's Color Barrier,” Dan Taylor tells the remarkable story of Ted Rhodes's life and career. He details Rhodes's impoverished background, how he was barred from golf courses in his hometown, Nashville, TN, by Jim Crow laws, and his rise to prominence in the sport.

Ted Rhodes was one of the most impressive talents golf has ever seen, a man who achieved greatness amidst immense obstacles and a pioneer whose game and character opened doors for future generations of Black golfers.

Join us (nearly) every Tuesday morning at Victory Baptist Church in Mt. Juliet at 7 AM. Come for the coffee; stay for the fellowship!

We were honored to hear from Shelia Weathers with Compassionate Hands at our weekly meeting this morning. Compassionate Hands is a vital part of our community, combatting homelessness and helping unhoused community members to get back on their feet.

Compassionate Hands - along with churches & partnering agencies - provides services all year round in Wilson County. These services specialize in development & rehabilitation. Their goal is to see poverty decline by ensuring every individual has opportunities and access to essential resources, including the community support needed to thrive.

If you are interested in the work that our club does in Mount Juliet and the surrounding areas, send us a DM or call us at 615-450-8128, and we will be glad to invite you to a meeting. Come for the coffee; stay for the fellowship!
