This weekend, Hero Hunt had the honor of spending time with a few of our nation’s Gold Star Fathers in the bayous of Southern Louisiana, chasing alligators with the incredible team at Team Voodoo Gator Hunts.

While the gator hunting was an experience we’ll never forget, the weekend was about so much more than the hunt.

The true mission of Hero Hunt shined through in the time spent together, the conversations shared, and the opportunity to hear these fathers tell stories about their sons—the men they were, the lives they lived, and the sacrifices they made in service to our country.

We are truly blessed and humbled to have played even a small part in honoring these families and helping ensure that their sons’ names, stories, and sacrifices are never forgotten.

A special thank you to Team Voodoo Gator Hunts for welcoming us, taking such great care of everyone, and helping make this an unforgettable experience for these Gold Star Fathers. Your hospitality and support meant more than you know.

A special shoutout to Tomahawk SS / Tomahawk Charitable Solutions for helping make this possible and Biltong Depot for always providing a quality hunt camp snack.

Some weekends remind us exactly why we do what we do.

Day 1…

Just an hour into our Southern Louisiana gator hunt with a few incredible Gold Star Fathers, and we’re already making memories that will last a lifetime.

These moments are about so much more than the hunt. They’re about honoring our fallen heroes, building friendships, sharing stories, and creating memories with the fathers who carry their legacies forward.

We’re less than a week away from heading to Southern Louisiana to spend a few unforgettable days gator hunting with a group of Gold Star Fathers and the fine owners of Team Voodoo Hunts.

This trip is about far more than hunting. It’s about remembering their sons, saying their names, sharing their stories, and honoring the families who carry their legacy every single day.

We can’t wait to get to Louisiana and make some memories together.

It is with heavy hearts that we say goodbye to a great friend and longtime supporter of Hero Hunt. The one and only, Larry Hawkins.

From the very beginning, he believed in our mission and was there to support the Veterans, First Responders, and families we serve.

Through countless dove hunts, meals shared, stories told, and many days spent together in the outdoors, he became much more than a supporter of Hero Hunt, he became part of our family.

Looking back, it was never really about the number of hunts or the birds harvested. It was about the friendships formed, the laughter, the conversations, and the memories made along the way.

Most importantly, it was about the impact he had on the lives of so many people who had the privilege of spending time with him.

He was a great man, a loyal friend to many, and someone whose presence will be deeply missed.

The entire Hero Hunt family extends our heartfelt condolences, prayers, and love to his family and friends during this difficult time.

Thank you for the years of friendship, support, and memories. We are grateful to have shared part of the journey with you.

You’ll be missed, my friend!
