VERY IMPORTANT DATE/TIME/LOCATION changes for our June and July meetings - PLEASE READ BELOW! ⬇️

There is a VA 250 parade in Woodstock on Saturday June 20th that will make getting back to French’s Dairy very hard. We have rescheduled our tour with them to Sunday July 12th at 3 PM.
*We understand this is our “optional” meeting of the year so attendance won’t be taken into consideration.

We’re going to keep the Saturday June 20th meeting but move it to the Mount Jackson Park at 3 PM. Kids can play on the playground and we will set up a few crafts kids can do to enter into the fair. We will bring entry forms. *As a reminder, our club gets $$ for every fair entry so help us fundraise by entering something!

A couple reminders:

1. Sheep, goat and hog weigh in is this Friday from 6-8 PM and Saturday 7-8:30 AM. Both are held at Shenandoah County Fairgrounds.

2. Shenandoah County’s YQCA training is Wednesday June 24th from 6-8 PM at Peter Muhlenberg Middle School.

*more detailed information about both of these events were emailed from the Extension office yesterday.

3. Our June meeting is on Saturday June 20th. We’re touring French Brothers Dairy. We’ve delayed this for those attending 4-H camp. We hope you all have a blast!

Calling all youth livestock exhibitors near Washington, D.C! 🐏🐮🐷🐐

History is happening on the National Mall this summer, and we want you to be part of it. Join us as a Youth Agricultural Ambassador during the 250th anniversary celebration of our nation at this year’s Great American State Fair. You’ll represent the next generation of agriculture by showcasing your animals and engaging directly with thousands of fairgoers from 10:00 AM–11:30 AM each day.

When: June 25 – July 10
Where: Washington, D.C. on the National Mall

We had a small but mighty group for our meeting today! We toured Kibler Farm and got to see a major beef cattle operation in Shenandoah County. These 4-Hers learned a ton and what a better way to spend Beef Month! 🥩

Stop by to Support the Shenandoah County 4-H Livestock Judging and Skillathon Team, grab some Homemade Treats, and help our Youth continue Learning and Growing, through our 4-H Program.

The Dairy Poster Contest information arrived just in time for our meeting tomorrow!

The club will provide poster board and art supplies at the meeting. We’ll have a table available, but since we won’t be at our usual meeting location, feel free to bring a clipboard or another sturdy surface to work on under your poster.

You’re also welcome to take your poster home and finish it there. If you can’t attend the meeting but would still like to participate, you can pick up poster board from Lauren or the Extension Office.

Lauren can submit completed posters on June 5 if you’d like her to handle turn-in.
