The Object of Rotary is to encourage and foster the ideal of service as a basis of worthy enterprise and, in particular, to encourage and foster:
FIRST. The development of acquaintance as an opportunity for service;
SECOND. High ethical standards in business and professions; the recognition of the worthiness of all useful oc

cupations; and the dignifying of each Rotarian's occupation as an opportunity to serve society;
THIRD. The application of the ideal of service in each Rotarian's personal, business, and community life;
FOURTH. The advancement of international understanding, goodwill, and peace through a world fellowship of business and professional persons united in the ideal of service. "What Rotary Means To Me" Song by Mount Dora Rotarian Logan

Shaking hands that know how to give
Learning from mentors who know how to live
Hearing words that help me to see
This is what Rotary means to me

I get inspired just seeing that wheel on the wall
It helps me give when I don’t feel like giving at all
And to watch children blossom and grow
Into all they can be
This is what Rotary means to me. (Repeat chorus)
What Lake County Rotary means to me. http://youtu.be/I4tZBsWK_xs for a video presentation of the club song

We want to thank Eustis Fire Chief, Mike Swanson, for pinch-hitting and doing today's presentation. He filled in for today's scheduled presenter who fell ill.

Chief Swanson shared his knowledge regarding current local weather and the current fire risks.

This year they are predicting a super nino. The temperatures in the Pacific Ocean are predicted to be 3 degrees higher than normal resulting in El Niño conditions, super Nino possibly. For Florida, that means less hurricane risk. However, if we do get a hurricane during an El Niño, it will be a doozy because typically only the stronger ones survive.

Thank you so much Chief Swanson. We look forward to future educational programs from you!!
