Our special guest speaker at this morning’s Club meeting was Pastor Dave Harris of Faith Christian Fellowship Church in Tavares. He spoke about the Church’s Victory Garden, which not only represents a valuable ministry at many levels, but also supports their mission to promote healthy eating and living in our communities and among our neighbors. They do this by providing access to pesticide-free produce and offering opportunities to learn how to grow, prepare, and share through diverse growing systems and engaging educational events. They hope to start a farmers’ market on Saturdays in the very near future that will further help them connect with the community around them. Last Saturday was our first outing supporting the Tavares Youth Football League, and we’re proud to be a sponsor of their program!
We had the opportunity to talk with the head coach, who shared how they are teaching the children respect, responsibility, and good sportsmanship—values that go far beyond the football field.
When we were setting up our tent and table, several of the kids jumped in to help. They were so polite and respectful, and it was wonderful to see those values in action!

A big thank-you to Tad, Kris, and Paul for spending time at our table and sharing the Kiwanis message with parents and families who stopped by. We even had a young lady stop to say thank you because she remembered playing on a Little League team that Kiwanis sponsored many years ago.

It’s moments like that that remind us why we love supporting our community and investing in our kids. Kiwanis is proud to support Tavares Youth Football!

We attended our first Terrific Kids celebration of the year last Friday at Eustis Heights Elementary, and the kids were so excited to receive their certificates, pencils, and bumper stickers!

There were lots of proud parents and grandparents in the audience as the students were recognized for this month’s letter “R.” It was wonderful to see their smiles and excitement as they received their awards.

A big thank-you to Eustis Heights Elementary for participating in our Terrific Kids program. We’re looking forward to celebrating more amazing students next month!

Thank you, Mrs. Harlee, Sarah, Joe, Chris, and everyone who helped make this month’s celebration special!

As the sun slowly rose over the eastern horizon last Friday morning, a contingent of dedicated Kiwanians, along with other volunteers from Lake Cares in Eustis, sorted and boxed food for our fellow residents in need. In 2025, this independent community food pantry served 74,998 individuals and 20,792 families, distributing about 25,000 pounds of food each week. 🥳 What a Fun Evening at Texas Roadhouse! 🥳

Our first 2026 Dine to Donate fundraiser was a great success! Thank you to everyone who came out to enjoy a meal, have some fun, and support the Golden Triangle Kiwanis Club.

When all was said and done, we raised:

🍽️ $240 from everyone who participated in the Dine to Donate
💵 $40 in additional cash donations
🎟️ $185 from our 50/50 raffle
And a special thank-you to the 50/50 winner, who generously donated their portion of the winnings back to the club!

Thank you again to everyone who attended, donated, participated in the raffle, and helped make our first Dine to Donate a success! We truly appreciate your support. 💙
