Good music, great people, and a whole lot of small-town charm. That’s what Everyday Elevated is all about!

We’re proud to help support Milltown Get Down in downtown Elkin, a two-day music festival celebrating local culture, creativity, and the community that makes our region so special. From incredible live music to local vendors and the energy of downtown, it’s a reminder that some of the best moments happen right here at home.

Our second Leadership Surry session took us into the fields, farms, and vineyards of Surry County for a full day focused on one of the industries that has shaped our community for generations: agriculture.

The day began with breakfast and networking before diving into the state of agriculture and then heading out into the community to experience it firsthand. Where we gained a closer look at the people, operations, and agricultural traditions that contribute to Surry County’s economy and identity.

We are incredibly appreciative of Joanna Radford with the NC Cooperative Extension for helping guide the day and share her expertise, and especially grateful to the Whitaker Farm, the Gillespie Farm, the Johnson Farm, and Shelton Vineyards for taking the time to welcome our class, share their experiences, and talk with us about agriculture in our community.

Agriculture is deeply woven into the story of Surry County, and we’re grateful for the opportunity to learn from the people who continue to grow it.
