From Mount Rushmore and Progressive Field to the Meriden Fire Department, the Naval Academy Preparatory School, and the United States Military Academy at West Point, retired Green Beret and TBI survivor Nicholas Allen is making every stop on his 50-state route count.

Our $50,000 goal will fund stem cell and exosome therapy products, telehealth visits, and therapy appointment expenses for 10 SOF warriors living with traumatic brain injuries.

So far, more than half of the support has come from our SOF and military-affiliated community. This community keeps showing up for its own, and we are grateful.

If you’re new here, welcome to Project R3con. You’ve joined a community working to expand recovery options for the people behind some of our nation’s toughest missions.

We serve current and former Special Operations Forces (SOF) personnel living with traumatic brain injury. These injuries can follow them into everyday life, affecting memory, sleep, relationships, and the ability to feel like themselves.

𝐖𝐞 𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐧 𝐝𝐨𝐧𝐨𝐫 𝐬𝐮𝐩𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭 𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐨 𝐚𝐜𝐜𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐭𝐨 𝐜𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐟𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐨𝐰-𝐭𝐡𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡.

Through licensed U.S. medical providers, we help eligible SOF personnel access investigational stem cell therapy. Our support includes medical screening, care coordination, baseline assessments, and 12 months of follow-up to better understand changes in symptoms and daily functioning.

𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗺𝗶𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗲𝗻𝗱𝘀. 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝘆𝗺𝗽𝘁𝗼𝗺𝘀 𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝗳𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗼𝘄 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗺 𝗵𝗼𝗺𝗲.

Project R3con helps current and former Special Operations Forces personnel living with traumatic brain injury access investigational regenerative care through licensed U.S. medical providers, with structured follow-up.

One tool we use throughout that process is the 𝗡𝗲𝘂𝗿𝗼𝗯𝗲𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗶𝗼𝗿𝗮𝗹 𝗦𝘆𝗺𝗽𝘁𝗼𝗺 𝗜𝗻𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆 (NSI): a 22-item questionnaire that asks how much symptoms have affected someone over the past two weeks.

𝐌𝐞𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐲. 𝐒𝐥𝐞𝐞𝐩. 𝐄𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐠𝐲. 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧. 𝐁𝐚𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞. 𝐌𝐨𝐨𝐝. 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐬𝐡𝐚𝐩𝐞 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲𝐝𝐚𝐲 𝐥𝐢𝐟𝐞.

In the five baseline assessments reviewed so far from the 2026 cohort, every respondent reported forgetfulness, fatigue, and difficulty with slowed thinking or organization. Four of five rated each of those symptoms moderate or higher.

That is a snapshot of what they are carrying into care. As follow-up assessments come in, we’ll track what improves, what stays the same, and what needs closer attention.

This October, retired Green Beret, and multiple TBI survivor, Nick Ward of Lesser Known Operators will take Reps for R3covery across all 50 states to raise awareness and support for Special Operations personnel living with TBI.
