Are you busy making Easter Plans? Let the Lake Creek Lion Band help! We'd love the opportunity to Easter Egg your (front) yard.

How does it work? on April 7 or 8, 2023 (your choice) between 7-10pm a team will drop by your home, and hide Easter eggs in your front yard. It's that easy!

What if it rains? We have some options in our form for that.

What if I don't want candy? Let us know if the form if you want candy, trinkets or a mix of both!

The Lion Band Boosters is passionate about supporting our instructors and students in the band programs at OHJH and LCHS.

What do you think of when you hear Lake Creek Bands? Maybe you think of the band playing in the background on a chilly Friday night at halftime. Perhaps your mind goes to the fight song blaring when a touchdown is scored. Whatever comes to mind, the general response is a group of kids in the background. But have you ever stopped to really think about students in the band?

Imagine a football game, pep rally or state send off without the band. Though most students don’t pay close attention, they are more important than you think. The band adds energy and pep to school events.

Typically, most people think of the band as a group, but take a moment to think about each individual. A band student goes to their band class, then to rehearsal, and then maybe practices at home. A student is committed to all of this practice, also while maintaining grades, and enjoying other extracurricular activities. Much of the time, people believe that band isn’t as strenuous as other sports and physical activities, but this is incorrect. There are drills, warm-ups, and practice. If one student fails to be precise in what they are doing, whether it be music or choreography, it threatens to ruin the entire performance. Each student plays a vital role in creating the whole. Band students never fail to attend a football game or performance. Keep in mind that the band also follows the football team to all away games on a stinky bus. At the end of the football season, the competition band and concert band will begin. 80-90 hours per quarter go into preparation for performances. They practice 7 hours a week. This proves the band should be held to the same standards and appreciated just as much as the football team. It is apparent that they work just as hard.

So how can you support the band?

We are looking for sponsorships for the Annual Lake Creek High School Band Banquet. This event rewards these students for all their hard work and dedication throughout the school year.

This year, the event will be held at April Sound Country Club on Saturday, April 22, 2023 6-10pm.

Bonus: Lion Band Boosters is a 501 (3)c organization. All donations are tax deductible!

The senior night coordinator would like three pictures (one of them young, one while in their organization in HS and one senior picture) emailed to a director or Mrs. Peverill [email protected] by Thursday, 10/20. Mrs. Peverill will have to submit the video next week to the district office, and she will need time to put it together. When you send the pictures, please include the student's first and last name.
