Yesterday, 327 eighth-grade students from across Monroe County got an inside look at the world of manufacturing, visiting 9 local manufacturers to learn more about the people, technology, and careers that power our community.

Manufacturing Day gives students the opportunity to step outside the classroom, explore careers they may not have considered, and see firsthand how the skills they’re developing today can translate into real-world opportunities right here in Monroe County.

We’re grateful to the manufacturers who opened their doors, welcomed students, and took the time to share their knowledge and experiences with the next generation of our workforce.

We are excited to officially introduce the Monroe County Business Alliance’s mascot, Compass Carl!

Earlier this year, we challenged our community to help us name our new mascot, and we had two winners!

🏆 Bobby Zimmerman of Mathewsons Tax Service came up with the name Compass Carl.

🏆 Jake Boes of Union Home Mortgage is credited with giving CARL an even deeper meaning:
