We hear it all the time from friends, co-workers, and family. 'What do you get from showing/trialing your dogs? Do you win $$$?'

Most of us don't compete with our dogs for the money 😆 But the love and bond with the dogs? Priceless 😊

The Maize & Blue Cluster ringside galleries are now live! 🎉

First and foremost, I want to extend my sincere thanks to the Ann Arbor Kennel Club for inviting Dapper Dreams Photography to cover this year’s Maize & Blue Cluster.

My heart goes out to everyone who worked so hard behind the scenes. I know an incredible amount of time, planning, and dedication goes into putting on a weekend like this, and I truly appreciate all of the efforts made before the difficult decision was made to cancel the remainder of the cluster due to the severe weather.

Unfortunately, because of the cancellation, I wasn’t able to fulfill every ringside photography request. To those exhibitors whose dogs I wasn’t able to photograph, I sincerely apologize and hope our paths cross again at a future show.

As a small thank you for your support, I’ve added special introductory pricing to the Maize & Blue Cluster galleries, including a One Dog Complete Gallery option for exhibitors purchasing multiple images. Full pricing and ordering information can be found on the website.

If you submitted a ringside request but I wasn’t able to photograph your dog because of the shortened weekend, please reach out. I’d be happy to offer you a special rate on a future portrait session as a thank you for your understanding.

Thank you again to everyone who said hello, submitted a ringside request, and supported Dapper Dreams Photography throughout the weekend. I truly appreciate it and hope you enjoy reliving the moments I was fortunate enough to capture. 📸🐾🥰

With today's show canceled and tomorrow still up in the air, I'm choosing to make the most of the day and will be doing private portrait sessions in town, look for more on that shortly!

Breeds covered yesterday (not all full breeds, sorry):
Belgian Tervuren
Border Collie
Boxer
Chinese Crested
Dachshund

Pug
Schipperke

Extremely sad to not get the opportunity to cover the breeds I had on deck for today, but that doesn't mean we can't get you nice photos all the same! Again, look for my upcoming post!! And please, if you know people whose dogs I've captured here, please do tag and share. Every bit helps right now. There is a lot higher overhead coming to a show 10 hours from home.

We saw the very best of the best in the dog show community Friday evening after a storm laid almost everything flat at the Monroe County Fairgrounds around 6:15 pm. We are SO relieved that no people or dogs were hurt.

The outpouring of support from everyone on site, helping one another and the grounds crew with the herculean overnight effort to be ready to hold a show at 8 am was nothing short of extraordinary. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you!!! We 🫶 you all!!!

IMPORTANT UPDATE FOR OUR RV GUESTS: Thank you Micigan Summer Classic!!!

Due to the cancellation at the Ann Arbor KC dog shows in Monroe, Michigan, the Michigan Summer Classic (Marshall, MI) will allow RV’s at the Calhoun County Fairgrounds, TODAY, Satureday July 4, after 3pm. Absolutely, NO EXCEPTIONS.

The fairgrounds does not want the current event disturbed (as our show would want the same).

RV poles are NOT marked. You need to park in the very back rows by the sheep barn until members of our club arrive Sunday afternoon. With all the rain, grass will be extremely soft.

If you do not have a sponsored pole, you WILL be moved tomorrow or Monday according to your RV size.

If you have a sponsored pole, please park in your spot.

Club members will be there on Sunday. They will coordinate payment and moving of RV’s.

Please remember, today is a holiday and our members are volunteers! We will have someone at the fairgrounds Sunday afternoon.

Any questions, please contact Regina Hess at (269) 591-0487 or myself at (312) 859-0688.
