Signposts Ministries is looking for a volunteer to help with our Equipment and Supply Loan Program. This individual would need to be physically able to lift most items, such as wheelchairs, standing frames, etc. (We can get help for larger items.) They would also need to feel confident driving a van around the Charlotte area. Duties would include picking up and delivering equipment and helping keep inventory organized. Evening and weekend availability is fine, but bonus if you have weekday hours available as well.

ANNOUNCEMENT: Play for All: Inclusive Soccer Clinic! ⚽

We are super excited to partner with the Charlotte Soccer Academy of Pineville to host an amazing, inclusive soccer clinic!

Thanks to the support of our incredible community members, this event is 100% FREE for all individuals ages 7 and up, regardless of ability! Players, coaches, and volunteers will team up for fun drills, scrimmages, and a great day on the field.

Registration Deadline: November 10th
📍 Location: Pineville
Who: Open to all abilities (Ages 7+)
Cost: FREE

Understood.org has a new look, but our mission is staying the same.

More than 30 years ago, Nancy and Fred Poses were looking for clear answers and next steps to support their neurodivergent son, Max.

Instead, the information they found was scattered and confusing. And they knew they weren’t the only family trying to make sense of it.

Today, Understood reaches approximately 20 million people each year, including parents, educators, and individuals navigating neurodivergence. As our community has grown, so have its needs. And that means we have to keep growing, too.

You may notice some changes: a refreshed look and language, expanded resources that serve more of our community, and better ways to find trustworthy information in an increasingly noisy world.

What hasn’t changed and won’t:

We’re a nonprofit. Our resources are expert-backed and free. And this work is personal to us.

Whether you’ve been with us from the beginning or are finding us for the first time, we’re glad you’re here.

Our October calendar is here! 🧡 This month is full of opportunities to connect, learn, and grow together — from Story Telling and Open Play to Art Explosion, GiGiFit, Achievers, Teen/Adult Choreo Dance, and Special Olympics Young Athletes.

📍 Location update: Starting October 1st, our Thursday GiGiFit Adult and Achievers programming will be held at St. Matthew Catholic Church. Art Explosion will remain at our Playhouse location in Ayrsley. Please make note of the new location when planning your Thursday visits!

🆕 New addition: Starting October 22nd, we're adding a Story Telling session at 11:00-11:45 am on Thursdays at St. Matthew Catholic Church, in addition to our regular Tuesday and Friday Story Telling times.
