Please SHARE! City of Monroe, North Carolina is offering free cooking classes for 18+. With the rising food costs and juggling that parents do this is a great opportunity to learn how to cook healthy meals while watching your budget. It’s also a self empowering course!!

They can provide childcare while you learn to cook as well.

Thank you to music group nx2_music Micah and Matthew for blessing the sweet mom we have all been helping to go from homeless to hotel to HOME! They blessed her with not only a Christmas meal, but carried them gifts and sang them a beautiful song of hope.

What a tremendous year this has been moving from teaching people to serve, to equipping people to serve to understanding while it’s great to reach the masses it’s more important to reach the 1.

A very special thank you to liason Lisa who engaged us earlier this year to help this sweet mom and kids. 💜🎁

We’ve seen you come through Community, we know you can do it AGAIN! Update on the family we’ve been helping friends as they have come alongside a Mother and her children go from homelessness to hotel to HOME!

Our liaison Lisa has shared the Christmas Wish List for the family. Here is the sign-up genius with some specific things that the family has requested this Christmas to continue to help them get on their feet. We are so thankful that their Christmas dinner is being provided.

We are so grateful for the opportunity to provide some treats for the kids again this year. A huge shout out to Union Academy Charter School Middle School Student Council for making the treat kits.

Dear Serve Unity Outreach Friends,

We wanted to share an update on this mission from our founding family.

Wow! It’s been an amazing two years of teaching people how to serve AND bringing people together through the power of service. In just two years we have worked with over 290 volunteers, served thousands of meals, given out thousands of food, hygiene, snack, and other bags. We have served with 15 different schools, 10+ businesses and organizations. Together we have done many, many outreach events.

But most importantly we have seen individual hearts develop a fierce love for serving, organizations put service at the core of what they do, and communities take back their own destiny and drive change from within in many different ways.

Because of the thousands of you that have joined in and followed this journey we saw God’s will for this mission not only launch and grow but bring the love for people and service to shine a light for him and his love for us so bright.

With all that being reflected on, we believe that if you are to truly be about God’s mission and his business that there comes a time in every journey for reflection and renewal of what he would have for you and your future.

Over the next couple of months, our founding family along with our advisors will pray about that and explore the next season for this mission.

Join us to support Common Heart Pantries Great Turkey Countdown and their Poverty Support causes.

Join us to support Community Shelter of Union County as they provide food, shelter, rapid rehousing, and more.

Join us to support Help Pregnancy Center as they come alongside expecting mothers.

Join us to support Ground 40 and House of Pearls and their work in addiction recovery.

Join us to support Turning Point, Inc. who serves Domestic Violence victims.

Join us to support The Relatives Crisis Shelter as they serve our youth and teens in need.

Join us to support Davids Backpacks for the Homeless who support our tent community neighbors with love and dignity that they deserve.

Join us to support HOPEmatch.org that supports families in need all over the greater Charlotte region.

There are many other great organizations to serve with. These are just a few organizations who represent areas of our personal life where we saw God move through missions like theirs growing up in our families. They were some of the first orgs we served with 10 years ago when we arrived in the Charlotte area and who we personally serve with through the Holiday Season every year.

Thank you for praying!! Thank you for serving with us. We are expecting to see what God reveals he wants to do through this mission and us in 2023 and beyond!

THANK YOU to all who joined in to support our friend Lisa who engaged us to help the moma and children we posted about last week.

Miracle!!! A friend in the community provided a hotel for the week.

Miracle!! She was gifted a car!

Miracle!! Her kids are back in school safe!

She’s on the the waiting list for the Shelter so we are going to continue to help support her needs until they can leave the hotel and get in the Shelter.

Here is how YOU can keep helping:

1. Gift cards for basic essentials or basic essentials (laundry, cleaning, etc.)
2. Homemade meals couple of times a week for 3 people. They have a microwave. Lisa has purchased plates and eating utensils for them. (Meal train: https://www.mealtrain.com/trains/4mg855)
3. Gas cards for vehicle that was donated so she can get back and forth to a job.
4. Any donations to help with car insurance (donor paid for one month) and/or nights at the hotel until the family unit at the shelter becomes available to them.

Reach out if you can help!! Let’s keep standing in the gap and being a miracle we’re just last week she didn’t believe it could happen. Thank you all that responded to this post last week and is helping to provide.

November 2020: This mission started in the kitchen of our founding family. Then we transitioned to having people open up their schools, houses, farms, and spaces to provide us space to serve. As the world was still in the middle of a pandemic we had no idea what this mission would do long term. We just focused on what we’ve been called to do which is SERVE.

May 2021: South Piedmont Community College was one of the first larger organizations to come alongside us. We still remember them supplying masks and hand sanitizer at our first ever Blessing Bag event. Every since then SPCC has supported almost every one of our outreach events over the last two years!

Tonight: What a blessing and opportunity to see a Community College bring Community into the College and serve us by providing us space. Tonight was our first night in our new serving space. We got to tour the space, hear about the College mission and talk about ways we will reach out and support in Monroe and beyond.

We are so excited! We hope you and your family will join us next month. We will be getting the dates on the calendar for the remainder of the year. Community Serving Nights at the College is going to be amazing. Stay tuned!
