If you haven't seen the October edition of the Mokena Neighbors magazine, please take a few moments to read this article. While we always promise our recipients confidentiality from our end, they are well within their right to share their story.

The Chlebek family joined the Mokena Miracles family in 2018, and are still active with us today. Kelly coordinates Santa's Secret Workshop, and the whole family is there to help it run smoothly!

Our nominees come to us for a variety of reasons, and most of the time, it's a temporary situation that just requires a little support to get through the rough spot. That's why we're here - to bring whatever joy we can to the holiday season, to let our neighbors know they aren't alone, and to remind them there is hope on the other side.

Mokena Miracles was proud to participate in the Will County Children’s Advocacy Center’s 2026 -Men Who Cook- on Saturday, October 17th.

This event helps raise funds for the Will County Children's Advocacy Center, founded by Will County State’s Attorney James Glasgow, which provides help and services to children who have endured different forms of abuse and neglect. This event is more than food — it’s about making a difference!

This year Mokena Miracles President, Jeff Kowalczyk, assisted by Board Members Elizabeth Kowalczyk, Ken and Debi Blank served up Hawaiian Corned Beef Reubens.

We have so much gratitude to all supporters who came out to this great event. We made multiple connections that we look forward to developing further to help future recipients of Mokena Miracles. We truly enjoy participating in this event!

We want to extend our heartfelt appreciation to the countless volunteers, law enforcement agencies, businesses, sponsors, and organizers who made this incredible evening possible!
