Terry Barnes, Founder of the Barnes Foundation, had a dream when he created this charity. To give back to our community, to help children with disabilities and instill in his grandchildren the importance of giving back and standing up for those without a voice.

He tasked each of his kids families to find something we were passionate about and allocated funds to be donated to those charities.

Christian and Jennifer handed that task over to their oldest twins, and one of their choices was to help animals. So we turned to where we recently adopted our new family members.

We went in December to drop off our donation and we were lucky enough to land on a day when they were closed and this could give us a safe and private tour!

We got to meet some of the dogs, and cats, and their pet rat. I’m still cringing a bit seeing a rat in Ronnie’s hair but we also learned how incredibly clean rats actually are so we are gonna go with that 🤣

We also learned about their Therapaws Pet Therapy program for children and adults with disabilities. It was a win win for our mission!

We are so thankful for the tour, the education of how the facility operates, and learning about all the wonderful services they offer 💗

The visit left a lasting impact on these two and they are already thinking of new ways we can give back to our community✨

This was the first year we involved the kids in an adopt a family program and it was priceless!

Covid made it a little different than we had hoped, but each of our families got to shop and wrap for another family in need. Then we had a car parade with festive clothes on to try and make the drop off special and full of holiday spirit. Socially distanced and with masks on of course 🙌

It was such a great experience to get them involved in thinking of others, and learning the gift of giving back 🎄

This will be the first of many years to come and I have a feeling it’s gonna get bigger and more impactful each year💗

Cheers to new traditions, teaching them young the importance of giving back, and raising kind and generous humans.

The farm is open to the community to walk around and visit with the animals and they have pony rides year round for the little ones!

They are also our first donation recipient of the 2020 season of giving. We are so proud to be partnering with you and the

More to come about this wonderful organization and the programs they offer families 🦋
