🇺🇸 Memorial Day is a day set aside for one purpose:
to remember the men and women who gave their lives in service to our nation. It was never intended as a celebration of the start of summer, but a moment of honor, reflection, and gratitude for the heroes who never made it home, and for the families who carry their legacy forward every single day. This weekend we ask that you take a moment to remember their courage, their sacrifice, and the freedom we hold because of them.
As you honor this day, we invite you to share the name of the hero you’re remembering, and if you’d like, tell us how you honor them — whether through a tradition, a quiet moment, a place you visit, or simply speaking their name with love. Every story shared keeps their memory alive.
Every name spoken reminds us why this day matters. 🙏

Today we pause to remember Officer William Buechner, whose service and sacrifice will always be part of our story — and part of the community he protected. But today is also about the people who loved him most.

His family continues to carry a loss that time doesn’t erase. Their strength, their love, and their willingness to share his legacy with us is a privilege we don’t take lightly. Through them, we are reminded that the impact of losing an officer doesn’t end with the uniform — it lives on in every birthday missed, every milestone felt a little differently, every quiet moment where his absence is still loud.

We stand with them today. We honor him. And we recognize the weight they continue to bear with courage and grace.

During Police Week, we pause to remember those whose watch ended far too soon.

Today marks 51 years since Officer Brunson was killed in the line of duty, and the tragedy of losing our heroes continues even now.

To his family — and to every family who carries a loss like this — we stand with you.

We honor his life, his service, and the legacy that time cannot erase.

His sacrifice lives on in the hearts that still remember.

Please keep the family, friends, and fellow officers in your prayers following the tragic loss of an officer earlier today.

We ask God to bring comfort, strength, and peace to everyone affected by this heartbreaking loss.

May the Citronelle Police Department feel the support of their community as they navigate the difficult days ahead.

For every first responder who has carried trauma quietly — this space is for you.

If you’ve ever experienced a critical incident, responded to someone else’s worst day, or held onto the weight of things you couldn’t talk about, this course was built with you in mind. It’s designed specifically for first responders and the unique layers of trauma that come with the job.

This isn’t a lecture.
It’s not a test.
It’s a safe space — surrounded by people who understand the unspoken parts of this work.

This course helps you make sense of what you’ve been carrying, gives you tools to move forward, and reminds you that you don’t have to do it alone. Healing doesn’t require a spotlight; sometimes it just requires a room full of people who “get it.”

If this speaks to you — or to someone you care about — I encourage you to take a look into this course. You deserve support, understanding, and a place to breathe without judgement.

First Responder REBOOT is a 12-week course helping those in the law enforcement, fire, EMS and corrections communities heal from trauma.

Seventeen years ago, we lost an officer whose life of service continues to shine through the love and dedication of his family. In his honor, they have spent years supporting the Ronald McDonald House — giving comfort, hope, and practical help to families walking through some of their hardest days.

Within the photo below, you’ll see a list of items that can be donated to continue the work he cared so deeply about. If you feel led to give, your kindness helps carry his legacy forward in the most meaningful way.
We ask that you please share this information and help make this the most giving year yet.

Since 1962, National Police Week has stood as a time to honor courage, sacrifice, and service.

For the Family of the Fallen, this week reflects the reality our families live every day — the memory of the goodbye that became the last, the silence left behind, and the strength required to move forward. We remember the officers who gave everything, and we stand with the families who carry their legacy long after the ceremonies end. We also support and honor the men and women who continue to serve, knowing the risks that come with every shift.

If you see a police officer this week, please take a moment to thank them for what they do for us all.

Remember, Honor, and Never forget.

Today we remember Officer Kimberly Sickafoose — a devoted mother, a steady protector, and a woman whose kindness still echoes in the lives she touched.

As this anniversary follows closely behind Mother’s Day, we hold her family a little closer in our hearts. The love she poured into her children and her community remains a part of her legacy, carried forward in every story shared and every memory cherished.

Her service, her sacrifice, and her spirit continue to shine through those who knew her best.

Officer Sickafoose, you are remembered. You are honored. You are never forgotten.

Port Police Officer Kimberly Sickafoose drowned after her patrol truck drove into the Mobile River in the area of 900 Alabama State Docks Boulevard while she was on patrol at about 2:40 am.

🌷 Happy Mother’s Day 🌷

Today we celebrate the women who shape us, guide us, and love us in ways that stay with us forever.

We’re also holding close those who may be missing their mothers today — may their memories bring comfort, strength, and a reminder of the love that never leaves.

To the single moms doing it all…
To the dads who step into both roles without hesitation…
To the bonus moms who choose love every day…
To the pet moms who pour their hearts into their four‑legged family…
And to every woman who nurtures, protects, teaches, and loves in her own way —

We see you. We appreciate you. We celebrate you.

May today bring peace, joy, and a reminder that motherhood takes many forms, and every one of them matters.
