The Alabama Power Service Organization or APSO is a nonprofit volunteer group focused on serving the community by developing and supporting charitable projects that promote the core values of Alabama Power Company by improving education, the environment and many other Alabama community needs. APSO is a 501(c)(3) organization and is separate from Alabama Power Company. All funds for APSO are raised

by the local chapters and donated by its members and their fundraising efforts. The Mobile Division chapter of APSO is comprised of local employees and their families who volunteer their time to benefit our local community.

Mobile County VOAD hosts a 2026 Disaster Planning Training on Friday, June 26th from 9a.m.-2p.m. at Simpson Strong Ties in Theodore, AL. There will be presentations from Mobile County VOAD and The University of South Alabama. Meteorologists from Fox 10 WALA will share a disaster season forecast. Legal Services of Alabama will discuss Heir Property and provide strategies to navigate it. Also, Mobile County EMA will share what we need to be prepared and highlight the benefits of a neighborhood emergency response team (NERT). Lastly, we will tour the Simpson Strong Tie facility and learn more about their amazing products and benefits for preparing our homes and structures.

This event is open to the public and residents of neighboring counties. We ask that you register at the link below.

DATE CHANGE!!

Beginning June 18, 2026, our summer meal program HAS MOVED TO THURSDAYS from 2pm - 4pm. (This schedule change is to better serve our community & improve logistics with the food box deliveries.)

**If you are new to the program, an adult is required to bring their gov't issued ID along with each child they are picking up for OR the child's original birth certificate.

If you have participated already this summer, adults are not required to bring their children/birth certificates.
