As we approach September, the Mitchell Area United Way has partnered with countless other agencies and volunteers across the nation in support of 9/11.

This year marks 25 years since the towers fell. 25 years of remembering. Honoring those who sacrificed everything for strangers. The loss of life and grief that came with it.

We are proud to support the 9.11 day project. 1,000,000 good deeds. A single day in history to demonstrate the unity we have as Americans.

Exciting news! 🏠

🔑 𝗜𝗧’𝗦 𝗢𝗙𝗙𝗜𝗖𝗜𝗔𝗟!

This one feels pretty special.

After months of prayers, planning, paperwork, and a lot of moving pieces, Mitchell Regional Habitat for Humanity ReStore ®️ officially has a home!

Today we signed the lease for our new space at 1006 N. Commerce Street, Suite #4, and we couldn’t be more excited about what comes next.

The ReStore is more than a place to shop or donate. It’s another way to make housing more affordable, keep usable materials in our community, and create sustainable funding that helps Habitat continue building and repairing homes right here in Davison & Hanson Counties.

We’re incredibly grateful to the REED Fund for helping us take this big step forward.

There’s still plenty of work to do before we open those doors — but today, we’re celebrating. 🩵

A new ReStore. A new housing resource. And another way to build a stronger community together.

Today I had the honor of touring the Avera Queen of Peace facility. Learning about each wing and how individuals are served here in our community. As we entered the Cancer Institute, I was greeted by a very friendly face.

Lucy Honkology brings smiles to those facing some of the most challenging times in life. She was all ready for school, sporting her back to school gear.

She keeps spirits high and reminds everyone that those small things can have a big impact. She definitely brightened my day!

Healthcare hero’s come in all shapes, sizes and species. 💛

We are saddened to hear of Dolly’s passing. She provided a lifetime of love to everyone she met. Nurturing our children towards reading at an early age. Inspiring people to care for each other. The Dolly Parton Imagination Library is an incredible testament to her drive in helping children succeed in life.

Rest in peace Dolly. 🦋
