We have rescued 100's of cats and dogs from the pound, which is NOT a no kill shelter. Per City policy, Owners have 3 business days to claim their pets. If not claimed, they go up for adoption and have 2 business days to get adopted from the pound. If they are not adopted from the pound, we adopt the animals, at our own expense, and place them into foster care. To prevent an animal from being euth

anized at the pound, we advertise their arrival in an attempt to help locate the owner AND advertise when the animal is available for adoption through the pound. We do not have a facility and have very few foster homes; therefore, we are always seeking new fosters, especially cat fosters. If we do not have enough foster homes, we try to find another rescue/shelter that has room.

This cat has been hanging out in the 900 block of East 1st Avenue in Mitchell. It is friendly but won’t let you pick it up, so not sure if it’s a male or female. This very friendly active female cat really wants to go home. She was picked up on Monday 8/24 in the 200 block of S Duff. She was not wearing a collar and not chipped.
