For individuals with autism, dementia, Alzheimer’s, or other cognitive conditions who may wander, programs like Project Lifesaver can provide an added layer of safety and peace of mind for caregivers and loved ones.

We know that navigating services, enrollment, and support systems can sometimes feel overwhelming — so we’re grateful to see local programs focused on helping bring people home safely. Thank you to the Mitchell Police Department for offering this resource to our community. 💛

At the Mitchell Police Department, protecting our community means protecting our most vulnerable residents.

That’s why we proudly offer the Project Lifesaver Program, a FREE service designed for individuals who may wander due to Alzheimer’s, dementia, autism, or other cognitive conditions.

Participants wear a small transmitter bracelet that emits a unique tracking signal. If a loved one goes missing, specially trained Mitchell Police officers can quickly respond using specialized tracking equipment to help bring them home safely.

Every second matters in these situations, and Project Lifesaver helps give families peace of mind when it matters most.

Hello Mitchell Area!

This year's Summer Concert series will travel a little so keep an eye on your lunch date plants. Performances will be featured in locations such as the Diamond Store Park next to the BR The Diamond Store, Palace City Brewing Co. and Bradley’s Pub & Grille.

Here's the Lineup:

Tim Parks will kick off on Friday, June 5th at Noon at the Diamond Store Park.

Callies Trio performs Friday, June 12th at Noon at the Diamond Store Park.

Humbletown will perform Thursday, June 18th at Palace City Brewing Co. to cap off an Arts Happy Hour with Arts South Dakota. This is an amazing opportunity for artist networking. Cousins Maine Lobster Food Truck will be present.

Lizzy Morrison returns us to the Diamond Store Park Friday July 10th at Noon.

Carmen Schooler finishes out the Diamond Store Park performances Friday July 17th at Noon.

Chris Miller brings the series to a close Friday July 24th from 6PM to 9PM on the Rooftop of Bradley’s Pub & Grille.

All music is family friendly and you are encouraged to attend for free, bring your own lunch from local businesses or these are a great way to picnic in style.


🍋 LifeQuest will provided free bottled water, lemonade, and cookies! 🍪 (Free-will donations accepted for Mitchell Area Arts)

Mitchell SD Rocks has released over 150 painted inspiration rocks throughout South Dakota, Minnesota & Iowa since they were born in 2025.

Mitchell SD Rocks paints and hides affirmation rocks supporting mental health, recovery, and offers the world fun, color, and exciting unexpected finds for people of all ages, and all walks of life.

MSDR partners with www.gorockgo.com which gives rock finders a platform to log their rock finds and rock painters to watch their art travel.

How does it work?
🪨 If you find a painted rock, flip it over.
🪨 There will be a code on the back. Go to www.gorockgo.com and click the 🍔 (three lines) in upper left corner.
🪨 Click on- "found a rock?"
🪨 Enter the tracking code and click verify.
🪨 Log your rock find.
