The Bond Between is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that focuses on building the bond between humans and animals. Since then, we have rescued over 35,000+ dogs and cats with the help of thousands of fosters, volunteers, and supporters in our community. Our organization has grown from a rescue to a first-in-its-class animal well-being organization! We continue to provide safe shelter, proper veterinary care, and daily necessities for animals while working hard to help them build a bond with humans. We also focus on supporting the bonds that already exist between people and pets with our pet food shelf, respite foster care program, and focus on social services. We wake up every morning saying YES to connecting people and animals, caring for them, and helping them fill each other’s hearts.

This is Peek 👀 We shared his story back in the Spring when he joined our rescue with his sister, Aboo.

They had been living as strays in Alabama. They were doing their best. They were just trying to survive and fend for themselves at 3 months old... but it wasn't enough.

We believe that before our shelter partners found him, Peek was attacked and injured by a larger dog. That injury resulted in him needing surgery to remove one of his eyes.

After spending some time with humans, it was determined that Peek is also deaf. He navigates the world in silence... with only one eye to help guide him 🥺

A few weeks after arriving to MN, his sister Aboo, found her home. And so did Peek! He spent two months with a family that loved him deeply, but it just wasn't the right fit.

So, Peek has found himself back in foster care... looking for a family 🥰

Everything about Peek is basically pawfect. He doesn't let his hearing or vision impairment slow him down. He is your typical playful, affectionate, and silly 8 month old pup. He loves other dogs and is ready to snuggle (or play) whenever you want.

There's just one thing... he can't hear himself 😅 So, sometimes when left alone Peek can bark... for awhile. Which means that a home without shared walls or with understanding neighbors would be best for this guy.

Peek doesn't need someone to fix him. He needs someone who understands him. Someone who will embrace his quirks (and his barks 😉). Someone who will give him a little extra patience and training when he needs it. Someone who sees him as the happy, resilient, loving pup he is.

One of the most common reasons people choose to not adopt is because they want a puppy. They want that bond to start as soon as possible. We get it, but the good news?!

There are certain weeks when it hits us. When we realize that what we're doing what we used to dream of doing.

When The Bond Between started way back in 2009, the goal was to save 30 animals that year. Sometimes, over the course of just one weekend, we bring in nearly 3x that.

And today? Today, 72 animals got listed for adoption 🥹🥰

The pupdate we’ve all been waiting for… LUKE HAS BEEN FOUND 🥹🥳🥰👏

10 days.

10 days ago, Luke went missing. His fosters did everything right. He was double leashed, but he was just scared. The second the car door opened, he ran.

Our Lost Animal Team and our friends at The Retrievers have been dedicated to finding him. For the last 10 days, they’ve searched.

They had a sighting every day, but couldn’t get close to him… until last night.

A live trap was set. And three hours later, Luke was finally captured 👏

Thank you. Thank you to everyone who helped look for Luke. Thank you to everyone who shared posts, who called or texted about sightings, who didn’t give up.

Do you remember Sammie? 🥹 She joined our rescue in 2022 with diabetes and degenerative joint disease.

We knew that she’d need insulin and special food for the rest of her life, but we weren’t sure what else was going on with her at the time. So, she was admitted to our Hopsice Program at the young age of eight.

Sweet Sammie girl has spent the last four years with her hospice foster. Being monitored, managing her medical conditions, eating treats, going on walks, snuggling on the couch.

And now? Sammie was declared healthy enough to graduate from the Hospice Program 🥹🎓

When an animal graduates from our Hospice Program, that means that they are officially ready for adoption. They are ready to go to a home and begin their next chapter.

But it turns out that Sammie’s next chapter had already started… her hospice foster decided to make it official and adopt her 🥹🥰

Sammie has been home for the last four years. She gets to stay with the human who has been by her side through it all. Through all the medical appointments. Through the unknowns.

And now? They get to enjoy her golden years together… as an official family 💛

🚨 FOSTER OPEN HOUSE THIS AFTERNOON 🚨

We have LOTS of wonderful doggos that are searching for a foster family. A family that will help them learn how to dog, teach them house manners, and give them ALL the cuddles (and treats) 😍

Join us THIS AFTERNOON from 1-3PM at our Minnetonka Office for a Foster Open House. These events are SUPER fun because you get to meet adoptable (or soon to be adoptable) animals that are in need of fosters, chat with our team, and obviously get some cuddles in 🥰

And the most important thing? You get to learn how fostering helps save lives. You get to learn how you're one stepping stone in their path to their next chapter... and that is pretty cool if you ask us 🥹

Ridglan Farms beagle pupdate 🥰

This is Towie. He has officially been with his adoptive family for four months… and boy has he grown 🥹

Before he joined our rescue, he had never walked on a leash. But now? He goes on 3-5 mile (or more!!!) walks a day.

He had never slept in a bed before. He only knew a kennel. But now? He sleeps in pajamas at the head of the bed every single night 🥹

He didn’t know what treats were. But now? He gets yummy homemade treats… every single day!

Towie went from shy and unsure to a confident, goofy boy in just four months. He went from only knowing one thing… a cage. To exploring the world with his humans 🌎

Over the summer they went on many road trips. Most notable to Mackinaw Island where he took a ferry ride, met some horses and walked 11 miles one day.

He now knows love. He now knows the world is much bigger. He now knows he’s safe. He now has a family ❤️

Kittens, cats, and plants... the BEST Saturday plans 😻🪴

Join us from 11am-1pm at Lost in the Forrest for a SAME DAY cat adoption event 🤩 The best part? You could leave with a plant AND a cat... yep it's a same day adoption event!

These are just a handful of the faces that will be attending. We have 28 cats and kittens signed up to meet you in just a couple of hours. They all have unique stories to match their adorable faces. Like Gwenna: she was found alone in a cemetery (purrfect for our spooky season lovers 👻)

So, come browse the rows of gorgeous plants and say hello to our feline friends that are looking for homes. Even if you're not ready to adopt, come say hi and give a few pets 🥰
