You can tell a lot about a community by what it shows up for.
Yesterday, the Warlords MC SCV showed up for autism in a HUGE WAY during their 2nd annual autism awareness fundraiser benefiting MAC Midwest.

They brought people together. They turned a day into something truly meaningful for the individuals and families we serve. To all the Warlords and their fellow MC brothers who also showed up, thank you.

To everyone who came out, gave, bid, sponsored, and supported -- we are incredibly grateful. That kind of energy doesn’t come from nowhere. It comes from people like you choosing to care.

And a very special shout out to Abraham Benson and his drummer Owen, who put on an incredible performance all day. If you haven’t checked them out yet, go to elasticstage.com/abraham.

💙 Days like this remind us why building community around autism is so important. 💙

This week, our centers showed up in the best way.

From bright colors filling the halls on Color Day to bold patterns, neon outfits, superhero moments, and some truly unforgettable crazy hair, Spirit Week brought energy, creativity, and a lot of joy across MAC Midwest.

But what stood out most wasn’t just the themes. It was the moments behind them.

The laughter between teams. The confidence in trying something new. The way our learners and staff showed up fully as themselves and celebrated one another along the way.

That is what acceptance looks like in real life. Not just something we talk about, but something we create together, every day.

We are so grateful for the heart and spirit that filled our centers this week. Take a look at a few of the moments that made it so special.

Moments of pure joy from our Mankato Center. Our friend was having a great time exploring a sensory-friendly foam, happily spreading it across the desk. The staff couldn’t help but laugh and enjoy the joy he was experiencing.

This Autism Acceptance Month, we’re recognizing local businesses who show up as true allies in our communities.

A big thank you to Jason and The Bearded Hauler LLC for helping make our Bemidji move possible. They generously donated their time and talents to help us get into our new space, and we’re incredibly grateful for their support.

This one is especially meaningful to us. Our Bemidji Center Supervisor, Malorie, is part of the family behind The Bearded Hauler. It’s a great example of how connected this work really is.

If you’re in the Bemidji area and looking for hauling services, we highly recommend The Bearded Hauler.

April is Autism Acceptance Month! It's a time to recognize the importance of building communities where individuals feel supported, understood, and able to grow.

That’s why we’re thrilled to share exciting news from our Bemidji Center.

MAC Midwest is moving our Bemidji center from Calvary Lutheran Church into a new space on the campus of Bemidji State University. This move allows us to expand our services, increase capacity, and continue meeting the growing need for support in the region.

More space means more access. More access means more individuals and families receiving the care they need.

We’re proud to deepen our presence in the Bemidji community and to continue building environments where progress can take shape in ways that are meaningful for each individual.

To celebrate, we invite you to join us for an Open House at our new location:

April 27
Bemidji State University
4:30 - 6:30 PM

Come tour the space, meet our team, and see firsthand how we’re continuing to expand support in this community.

This month—and every month—we remain committed to meeting individuals right where they are through progressive and compassionate care.

Today we are celebrating World Autism Awareness Day.

At MAC Midwest, we think about it a little differently. Awareness is important. But acceptance is where real progress begins.

Every day, we have the privilege of supporting individuals across the neurodevelopmental spectrum. Some are just beginning to communicate their needs. Others are building independence, relationships, and confidence in new ways. Each path looks different. Each step forward matters.

Acceptance means creating environments where people feel safe to be themselves. It means meeting individuals where they are, and building care around their strengths, not expecting them to fit into someone else’s mold.

It also means showing up consistently. On the hard days. On the good days. And in all the small moments in between where growth actually happens.

We’re proud to support individuals and families across a wide range of needs, and we’re continuing to expand how we do that so more people can access the right support, at the right time.

Today is a reminder of why that work matters. And tomorrow, we keep going.

It’s Neurodiversity Celebration Week 🧠 🎉

There’s often an expectation that people should think, learn, and move through the world in similar ways. But that’s rarely how it actually works.

In practice, there’s a quiet range in how individuals process, communicate, and grow. Some are methodical, some intuitive, some entirely their own mix of both.

Over time, you begin to see that these differences aren’t something to smooth out. They’re what shape perspective and progress in the first place.

At MAC Midwest, we have the privilege of seeing that play out every day, in ways that are thoughtful, steady, and uniquely individual.

It’s work we’re proud to be part of.

What a wonderful surprise this week at our Hutchinson center! 💙

We are so grateful to River Oaks Assisted Living for choosing MAC Midwest as part of their monthly give back program and for the generous donation of snacks and supplies for our learners.

For many of the families we serve, having consistent access to snacks during the day makes a real difference. This support will go a long way in helping our learners feel cared for and supported.

Thank you, River Oaks, for your kindness and for supporting our community in such a meaningful way!
