We had a great time at our trips to Westwood Hills Nature Center last week! Our members spent 90 minutes walking around the nature center with GCMN volunteer and Master Naturalist Lisa Keitel, who led attendees in watching and listening to a variety of Minnesota birds. We always appreciate having an opportunity to share the healing power of nature with members!

Thank you to St. Croix Hospice for hosting Gilda's Supper Club on May 26th! These volunteers created a delicious picnic-inspired meal for members to gather over as we brought in the summer season.

June 4th is Rural Cancer Awareness Day, which highlights the disparities in cancer care that affect rural communities. The Rural Cancer Institute works to understand and address the unique challenges that rural communities face in accessing cancer care. At the beginning of May we held a spring renewal retreat at our clubhouse. Lead by Executive Director Katherine Todd and yoga and meditation guide Michele Haaland, attendees welcomed spring by slowing down, taking time for contemplation, and tapping into their inner wisdom.
