That’s a wrap on the Ima & Me journey in Rehovot!
Yesterday, the moms and daughters spent the day in Jerusalem, connecting with the stories, history, and spirit of the city. Today, they deepened that connection in Rehovot through moments of creativity, tradition, and togetherness, sharing beautiful experiences that celebrate the bond between mothers and daughters and the traditions passed down from one generation to the next. Shabbat Shalom!

The Ima & Me P2G delegation continues to make beautiful memories in Israel!

Moms and daughters from Minneapolis and Rehovot have spent the last two days exploring, learning, giving back, and building connections through shared experiences.

From discovering Jewish history at the ANU Museum and exploring Tel Aviv’s Carmel Market to experimenting with physics at the Weizmann Institute and meeting students at an elementary school, each experience brings new perspectives and friendships.

The group also prepared and delivered care packages to seniors through Ronnie’s Neighbors, giving back to the local community. They wrapped up the day with an energetic dance workshop filled with laughter and smiles!

St. Paul Jewish Federation are partnering with Secure Community Network (SCN) to strengthen security for Jewish communities across Minnesota and the Dakotas. Through this partnership, local security professionals will have expanded access to SCN’s national threat monitoring, 24/7 security operations center, training, and emergency preparedness resources. A community town hall will be held soon to share more about the new program.

Our Ima&Me cohort is in Rehovot! They had a fantastic first day together–from picking fresh oranges to discovering the beautiful city of Rehovot, they got to experience a little bit of what makes this place so special.
Then, they stepped back in time at Machon Ayalon learned about the brave people who helped build Israel, and left feeling inspired by their courage and stories.
And of course, ended the day with big smiles, new memories, and lots more to look forward to!

This Shabbat, we’re reflecting on the three years since October 7 and the impact our community has made alongside our partners in Israel, including volunteering in Kibbutz Holit’s orchards during our fourth Tiktatenu: Solidarity and Volunteer Mission to Israel.

Nissim oversees programs focused on youth leadership, elderly welfare, community engagement, and emergency response, working closely with JDC partners locally and globally.

Today, we remember October 7, 2023, and mourn the innocent lives lost and stand with all those whose lives have been forever changed.
Over the past three years, our Minneapolis Jewish community has come together in countless ways to support those affected — from our Israel Emergency Campaign and joining the March for Israel in Washington, DC, to partnering with Kibbutz Holit through Communities2Gether, organizing four Tiktatenu: Solidarity and Volunteer Missions to Israel, and creating a business loan fund to support businesses owned by Israeli army reservists, among so much more. We will continue to come together as a Jewish community to remember, support one another, and carry forward with hope.
