EVERYTHING IS OTHERED

New sculptures by Jeffrey Haddorff  and paintings by Janet Lobberecht

Please join us for the Opening reception this Friday, June 5th, 6-8PM!

Exhibition runs through July 3rd.

Jeffrey Haddorff's recent work: sometimes botanical, sometimes anatomical, sometimes architectural, always interested in the physicality of working with clay, the dialog between maker and material, color, surface, scale, the work being arecord of the action in the studio. https://jeffreyhaddorff.com/home.html

Janet Lobberecht's recent paintings and multimedia work are evidence of prior and recent creations coalescing, introducing a continual wave of discovery that oscillates between the past, present, and future. As we fuse in and out of many forms and spaces, her work invites us to question what "human" will mean in the future. .and.deviations

On May 19th, NE SCULPTURE | Gallery Factory installed two new works as part of the Social Justice Billboard Project in George Floyd Square, MPLS, MN. A project we have been curating & administering since July 2020.
The new featured works include:

- ”Gospel of George 9:29“ by William Ransom: This work reflects on the revelation from the murder trial regarding the 9 minutes and 29 seconds it took to take George Floyd‘s life. Ransom is an artist and sculptor whose work explores the intersection of material engagement, personal narrative, and our collective national story.

- ”To All My Relations (Metakuye Oyasin)“ by Ivan Watkins: This art depicts the cultural and spiritual connections between Black, Brown, and Red Nations. The imagery features a peaceful Rastaman and Native peace-pipe carrier wearing an American Indian Movement (A.I.M.) sash, with gravestones marked by the Black Lives Matter (BLM) logo. Watkins’ practice is deeply rooted in Lakota Spiritual Ways and his membership in the Native American Church.

You are encouraged to visit George Floyd Square at 38th St E & Chicago Ave S to experience these important additions to our community’s public art. We especially encourage visits between May 23–25 to commemorate the 6-year anniversary (May 25) of George Floyd’s murder.

Please join us in remembering all stolen lives and continuing the fight for racial healing, justice, and equity.
