Community Foundation of Middlesex County The Community Foundation idea is simple one: anyone can be a philanthropist; anyone may use CFMC to give something back to the community.

CFMC represents local people, giving locally to make an impact in their community. The Community Foundation of Middlesex County is a community resource. Our mission is to enrich the quality of life for everyone today – and forever. We are committed to serving three primary constituencies:

Donors – as partners for giving and a resource for information about local needs. This is accomplished throu

gh Funds established to support the community, partnering and collaboration on initiatives designed to positively impact our region; and as a resource to aid and support individuals and businesses in developing their charitable goals and visions for the benefit of all. Charitable Organizations – as a source of grants and technical assistance, and as a guardian of nonprofit endowments. Through Donor Advised Funds, Designated Funds, and Unrestricted Funds, we work to ensure our local nonprofits have access to the necessary funding to provide a broad range of services and programs to the community. Furthermore, through our Nonprofit Resource Center, we offer access to free and low-cost workshops, one-on-one consulting with our knowledgeable staff; and networking opportunities with local and national experts. The Community at large – as a force committed to helping our communities thrive over the long term. The Community Foundation of Middlesex County works with the community for everything which makes our community a great place to live, work, and play. Our interests are your interests, including animal welfare, arts and culture, health and social services, education, history, the environment, civic improvements, recreation, and economic security and opportunity. The Community Foundation has earned a reputation as a convener – with the ability to bring together different constituents to address critical issues facing the community. In addition, the Community Foundation of Middlesex County was the fourth foundation in Connecticut to gain compliance with the Council on Foundations new National Standards for U.S. Community Foundations, a rigorous review of thirty-eight standards in areas including governance, stewardship, donor relations, grant making and communications. The Community Foundation of Middlesex County does “Help Good People Do Great Things.”

Sensory Playtime (Birth - Age 4)

In the Fall, Sensory Playtime is moving to once a month, to make room for even more awesome programs for our youngest patrons (stay tuned for more information about those! 😉)

Join us for a hands-on, child-led play session designed to engage the senses! Sensory Playtime encourages exploration, creativity, and early learning through touch, sound, and movement. Kids are invited to move from station to station, at their own pace, to scoop, squish, pour, and play with a variety of textures and materials in a safe, supportive space alongside their caregivers. This program supports sensory development, fine motor skills, and social interaction—come play, learn, and make a (little) mess with us!
