The Community Foundation idea is simple one: anyone can be a philanthropist; anyone may use CFMC to give something back to the community.

CFMC represents local people, giving locally to make an impact in their community. The Community Foundation of Middlesex County is a community resource. Our mission is to enrich the quality of life for everyone today – and forever. We are committed to serving three primary constituencies:

Donors – as partners for giving and a resource for information about local needs. This is accomplished through Funds established to support the community, partnering and collaboration on initiatives designed to positively impact our region; and as a resource to aid and support individuals and businesses in developing their charitable goals and visions for the benefit of all. Charitable Organizations – as a source of grants and technical assistance, and as a guardian of nonprofit endowments. Through Donor Advised Funds, Designated Funds, and Unrestricted Funds, we work to ensure our local nonprofits have access to the necessary funding to provide a broad range of services and programs to the community. Furthermore, through our Nonprofit Resource Center, we offer access to free and low-cost workshops, one-on-one consulting with our knowledgeable staff; and networking opportunities with local and national experts. The Community at large – as a force committed to helping our communities thrive over the long term. The Community Foundation of Middlesex County works with the community for everything which makes our community a great place to live, work, and play. Our interests are your interests, including animal welfare, arts and culture, health and social services, education, history, the environment, civic improvements, recreation, and economic security and opportunity. The Community Foundation has earned a reputation as a convener – with the ability to bring together different constituents to address critical issues facing the community. In addition, the Community Foundation of Middlesex County was the fourth foundation in Connecticut to gain compliance with the Council on Foundations new National Standards for U.S. Community Foundations, a rigorous review of thirty-eight standards in areas including governance, stewardship, donor relations, grant making and communications. The Community Foundation of Middlesex County does “Help Good People Do Great Things.”

Thank you Haddam Historical Society-Thankful Arnold House Museum for offering a great way to "look back" and create their own versions of local fashions!

We are pleased to announce that registration is open for our first Fashion Flashback–Juniors' Program for ages 8-14!

This program was made possible by a generous grant from the Community Foundation of Middlesex County through the Edmund T. and Barbara S. Delaney Fund. The program will explore the cultural history of clothing and endeavors to instill a more profound understanding of the people who came before us and the role that fashion played in their lives.

Fashion enthusiasts aged 8 to 14 will:
• Explore the evolution of style through the 18th and 19th centuries,
• Try on reproductions of historic styles, and
• Sketch their own design!

Thank you to the Community Foundation of Middlesex County!

Thanks to the generous support of the M. Jones Family Fund at the Community Foundation of Middlesex County, our Summer Enrichment Campers were able to enjoy a special outing to the Connecticut Riverfront complete with snacks, ice cream at Tate’s and some classic outdoor fun with kites, frisbees and yard games!

Support like this helps the Y create opportunities for kids to get outside, try new things, build friendships and simply have fun together. We are incredibly grateful to the Community Foundation of Middlesex County and the M. Jones Family Fund for investing in local youth and helping make special summer memories like these possible.

The fun and connection doesn't have to end with summer! Kids Korner Before & After School Care is enrolling now for the new school year.

Join us on October 31 for a behind-the-scenes look into the creative practice of Philadelphia-based animator and filmmaker Jack Gray.

As part of our 2 PM Studio Crawl, Jack will discuss his innovative approach to filmmaking, combining traditional animation methods with experimental techniques to create captivating visual narratives.

Visitors will have the opportunity to explore the studios of all six artists-in-residence and engage with the work developed during their time together at I-Park.

Meet jazz composer Amine Dhouibi, hailing from Tunisia, and enjoy a live performance during our final Open Studios on October 31. Costumes are welcome, creativity is encouraged and admission is free!

Starting at 2:00 PM, guests are invited to visit each of the six artists in their studios, learn about their creative processes and experience the work developed during their four-week residencies.
