It’s officially fair szn!
We couldn’t be more proud of our cadets who get out there and grind. Evan B. and Evan R. have been a part of our program for several years, while balancing school, sports and working year round. This year time has been limited, so they made sure to donate dinner tonight and lunch tomorrow for their fellow cadets who are working hard at the Chester Fair Chester Fair. We can’t thank jerseymikesmiddletown Jersey Mike's Subs for their continued partnership with our program. They have consistently given back to our program and we are forever grateful!!

Promotion time!
Congratulations on a well-deserved promotion for the following Middletown Police Cadets!
Cadet Mason Varga from Acting Captain to Captain
Cadet James O’Brien from Sergeant to Lieutenant
Cadet Thomas Collison to Sergeant

These Cadets went through a written test, oral board (mirroring Middletown PD’s own promotional process), and a background check by advisors. They excelled at the top of each category and have shown dependable, consistent and fair leadership to others. Congrats!! Middletown Police Department

Last night was an exciting night for the Middletown Police Cadets as we officially announced the Oral Board results and final promotional rankings for our upcoming leadership positions. Congratulations to all of our cadets who participated in the promotional process. The dedication, and preparation, displayed throughout the written exam and oral board were outstanding.

We also spent time working on handcuffing techniques and subject control, giving our cadets valuable hands on experience in safe and effective control tactics.

A special thank you to Sensei Pelton for loaning us two gym mats, which allowed us to safely conduct our training exercises. Your support directly benefits our cadets and helps us provide realistic, high quality training opportunities.

We are proud of the effort our cadets continue to put into their development and look forward to announcing our promotions within a few weeks!

Today, members of the Middletown Police Cadets had the opportunity to attend the Connecticut Military Vehicle Collectors Show, which so happens to be our favorite event of the year!

A huge thank you to the Connecticut Military Vehicle Collectors, especially Mark, and Andrea from Quonset Surplus for welcoming our cadets, being so gracious, and for their generous donation to our program.

Events like these provide our cadets with valuable learning experiences, firstly an intro to parking vehicles for fair season, exposure to military history, and the chance to connect with outstanding members of our community.

We are grateful for your continued support and look forward to returning next year!

Today’s training focused on proper handcuffing techniques, officer safety, and hands on practical skills. Our cadets had the opportunity to learn and practice real world procedures while building confidence and professionalism. Of course, Cadet Wyatt made sure to keep things entertaining along the way! Cadet Eli later paid the favor back 😂😂

On the other side of the building were our leadership cadets who completed their oral boards, the last step in the promotional process!

Great job by all of our cadets as they continue developing the skills and teamwork needed for future careers in public safety.

The Middletown Police Cadets were honored to participate in today’s Memorial Day Parade in the City of Middletown.

After last Monday’s parade was postponed due to weather, we were proud to join our community today in remembering and honoring the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice while serving our nation.

Today’s cadet contingent was led by Cadet Captain Varga, Officer Bloom, and Advisor Anthony Hinton. We are proud of the professionalism and dedication displayed by our cadets as they represented both the program and our community.

Thank you to all of the veterans, active-duty service members, organizers, and community members who helped make today’s event a success. We are grateful for the opportunity to pay tribute to those who gave everything for our freedom.

The hard work, dedication, teamwork, and professionalism these cadets continue to show is something to be proud of. Every training night and every scenario prepared them for moments like today.

A special thank you to our advisors for the countless hours they put into mentoring and training these cadets, and to the Middletown Police Department for continuing to support opportunities like this. Events such as Stations Day are critical in helping develop, train, and prepare the next generation of young leaders interested in law enforcement and public service.

We could not be more proud of this group.

Yesterday we had the opportunity to connect with students at Beman Middle School during a recruitment event, and the response was outstanding. We met so many motivated students who shared their interests in law enforcement and a wide range of future careers.

To every student who stopped by…thank you for your time, your energy, and your ambition. No matter the path you choose, stay focused and keep pushing forward. Your future is yours to build. We (MPD) will always be there right by your side.

We also want to thank the Beman staff for their support in making this event possible.

A special recognition goes to our advisor, Anthony Hinton, who truly is the heart and soul of this program. His commitment goes above and beyond, taking time off work to be present for all lunch waves, enthusiastically engaging with students, and then returning to help again for our evening meeting. That level of dedication isn’t asked for, it’s who he is. The time, effort, and consistency he brings to this program have a direct impact on our cadets and the success of everything we do. Huge thank you Ant!!
