Mark your calendars and tell a friend (to tell a friend)! Sunday, March 29, 3pm at Cromwel Hall at , joined by and will be exploring the music of jazz pianist James Williams (1951–2004). Williams was a very accomplished musician and who shared the stage with greats such as Art Blakey and the Jazz Messengers, Dizzy Gilespie,
Elvin Jones, Joe Henderson, Clark Terry, Chet Baker and Tony Williams. He was also a prolific composer, giving Baerman’s trio a large repertoire to pull from. What better way to spend a Sunday afternoon?

Today is the 13th anniversary of the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting. As of posting this, a “person of interest” has been taken into custody for a mass shooting at Brown University yesterday. There have been 70 school shootings and 391 mass shootings in the United States in 2025, that’s more than one per day. We remember Ana Grace Márquez-Greene, child of saxophonist Jimmy Greene, was one of the 26 senselessly murdered at Sandy Hook thirteen years ago today. As a part of his “Right Now“ series, pianist Noah Baerman shares his interpretation of the Stevie Wonder tune “As” and dedicated it to Ana Grace Márquez-Greene, her family, and the spirit of enduring love in the face of great loss. On this day, we at Resonant Motion urge you to push toward a positive change using whatever tools you have at your disposal, whether that be your voice, your time, or your resources. Consider supporting the Ana Grace Project started in the name of Ana Grace Márquez-Greene, which supports music and arts initiatives, scholarship funds, and programs that affirm human rights like LGBTQ prom. All of the proceeds from Noah Baerman’s “Right Now Volume Four: Visions of Steveland” benefit Claire’s Continuum, an initiative of Resonant Motion Inc. More important that a one time contribution to any organization is taking time to revaluate how to sustainably support those in your community. Together, we will be able to change the world for the better!

Right Now Volume 4: Visions of Steveland, the fourth and final installment of Noah Baerman’s “Right Now” series is out! The series as a whole features music that reflects and reacts to the political conditions of our time. This collection of music, newly interpreted by Baerman, is full of examples of hope, solidarity, and the human will towards justice in the face of great opposition. This fourth volume, Visions of Steveland, continues the mission by focusing on the work of Stevie Wonder and the powerful messages he spread through his music.

“Stevie Wonder is profound even when singing about seemingly simple matters like love and childhood innocence,” says Baerman, “but his depth as a cultural critic and an unyielding voice of peace is such a vital source of nourishment and such a wake-up call to our society’s soul and conscience.”

The album is on Bandcamp for as little as $1 as and listeners are encouraged to donate instead to charities working to protect our society. For those who choose to purchase here in addition, all proceeds will go towards Claire’s Continuum, a Resonant Motion initiative, in Claire Randall’s memory, to commission first-time collaborators to create socially conscious art together.

The Claire’s Continuum application is still open! The initiative pays tribute to Claire Randall who was herself an incredible source of creativity as well as a staunch defender of socially conscious causes. In this vain, each cohort of chosen artists is paired off by an anonymous panel and commissioned to create a piece of music or a multidisciplinary work that resonates with those principles and also responds to this year’s prompt which is the above collage and the following lyrics, both Claire’s creation:

“oh a temple or a body

just a place to stay and

give it everything you got”

If you are interested in collaborating for the first time with a like-minded artist, whether you knew them before or met during the application process, and this interests you, please apply at the link in the bio!

The 2025 Claire’s Continuum applications are now open!

Claire’s Continuum is an initiative created in loving memory of Claire Randall (1989-2016) to support socially conscious music and interdisciplinary work by first-time collaborators. Applications will be screened and commissioned pairs chosen by an anonymous review panel populated by some combination of arts professionals, Resonant Motion, Inc. (RMI) staff, and close friends and family of Claire’s.

Each commission cycle, a new prompt is given, and this year the prompt is the collage above made by Claire paired with some of her lyrics from the Sleeples song “Onyx”.

“oh a temple or a body

just a place to stay and

give it everything you got”

This initiative pays tribute to Claire Randall – songbird, educator, adventurer, sister, daughter and friend. Claire loved to collaborate: her life was a constant collage of connecting people through art of varying mediums. She was a charter team member of RMI and served as a Program Associate and contributor to multiple RMI-produced recordings and music performance projects in addition to her full-time career as Education Director at Patron Technology. To her, creating was natural self-expression and vital self-care and an extension of her magnetic energy. She also worked tirelessly on social issues, dedicated both to specific causes and to the betterment of our planet and its inhabitants in general. On all of these levels she had a remarkable ability to bring people together.
