Honoring our Fallen Brother Jason Barkyoumb

Local 1274 has experienced a big heart break after hearing about the passing of Brother Jason.

Jason was a glazier with us for over 18 years and certainly has left his mark as a leader and true brother in the glazing field. As well as being a veteran serving this nation.

We know the loss of our loved ones and co-workers can weigh heavy on the heart and we are reminding you that if you need any support through the grieving process, as a member you have access to support at no-cost - go to our member resources for our EAP program so you can speak with professionals who can walk with you hand and hand 🤚

As member Victoria Voccio with Local 1333 said: “To 1274 so sorry to hear for your loss. I had the pleasure of working with jason barkyoumb at Holyoke soldiers home a Veteran himself working on the site. A man who without a doubt took pride in his work but above everything else absolutely loved his boys.”

Help us Welcome Brother Ray Peabody into his new position as Business Rep of Local 1122 ⭐️

We are so proud to have Ray serving our members. We celebrate all he has accomplished within his career and the Union spirit he carries. Ray has been a Bridge Painter for many moons and chances are if you are a Bridge Painter you’ve worked or learned from him at some point!

Here is what Ray wanted to share with you:

“After 30 years as an Industrial/Bridge painter, 25 as a job steward and proud Union member of Painters Local 1122, District Council 11, I am looking forward to the next step in my career. I was humbled that the membership of District Council 11, and Local 1122 in particular, have placed their faith and trust in me and elected me to be the Business Representative for Local 1122 in the recent council wide elections. I know many of these members personally, both on and off the job sites, and look forward to providing the service they deserve as members of our great Union. I have been gifted by the membership the opportunity to, as our IUPAT Mission statement says in part: “Better the lives of each and every member.”
