is a non-profit organization dedicated to creating safer and healthier individuals, families, & communities by reducing substance misuse, promoting positive decisions, and supporting strong mental health wellness. is a nonprofit organization that has three areas of focus: the Local Prevention Council (LPC), Parent University and Community & School Resources. As the LPC for Southbury & Middlebury,

CT, SMART receives grant funding from the State of CT DMHAS to support prevention & education measures, and create opportunities for growth & development, to help prevent youth substance misuse. Other funding sources allow SMART's impact to extend to other demographics, in an effort to create enriching programming for parents and the communities at large.

S.M.A.R.T. (Southbury - Middlebury Acting Responsibly Together)

We know that positive change is rooted in education. Our parent support workshops are free & scheduled throughout the academic year. They are designed to teach parents, caregivers and people in positions of influence about various parenting-based topics. These topics focus on prevention, education and intervention with the overarching goal of strengthening individuals, families and communities by building assets in our children and adults.
