The Quassapaug Sailing Center, a non-profit educational institution, offers sailing lessons for both juniors and adults, hosts Snipe Fleet 231 racing, and provides a summer full of sailing and waterfront learning and fun under the watchful eyes of certified instructors. QSC is located on beautiful Lake Quassapaug in Middlebury, Connecticut. Lake Quassapaug is a mountaintop, spring-fed lake with a

motorboat speed limitation of 5 mph. The lake's unique characteristics and notoriously shifty winds make it an idea location for sail training. Our building was built in 1927 by the Whittemore family of Middlebury as summer retreat for indigent children from Waterbury. In 1945, it became the Quassapaug Yacht Club and the host of Snipe Fleet 231. It was also used by the Waterbury Boys and Girls Club for a summer camp. In 2003, the newly formed Quassapaug Sailing Center purchased the property to provide sailing instruction and encourage and promote sailboat racing and good sportsmanship between persons actively interested in sailing and water activities. Hello Members of QSC

While we had a great Fall clean up work party this year, many leaves have since fallen down on the property. We are planning a leaf clean up work party for this Saturday, November 15th at 9:00 AM, weather permitting.

Anyone who has any leaf blower equipment is welcome to help out. The more people we have, the quicker the clean up will go.
