Are you interested in joining The Children's Trust Board of Directors? We are currently accepting applications for an At-Large Board Member position through Monday, June 8, by 5 p.m. An at-large member serves a two-year term and may serve a maximum of two additional terms, with each term lasting a period of two years. Candidates for the board should have the following knowledge, abilities, and skills:

- An awareness of the needs of children and families in Miami-Dade County.
- Extensive professional experience with executive leadership accomplishments.
- A dedication to the mission of improving the lives of children and families
The ability to work collaboratively.
- A record of effective advocacy for children.
- A record of service on volunteer and public boards.

The Summer Battle of the Books officially kicked off! Miami-Dade Grade Level Reading Campaign partners hosted a morning of peer learning with participating Trust-funded summer camps led by Project Rise. FIU Reading Explorers and The Trust staff, Danielle Barreras and Yesenia Reyes, distributed the toolkits and books to ensure youth engagement throughout the summer in preparation for the July Summer Battle.

Through this program, The Trust presented the interns with a technology-focused project, which they will solve with support from faculty.
