Through our Alliance on Infant & Maternal Health Miami-Dade we remain committed to improving outcomes for Black mothers and babies through collaboration and community-driven solutions. 💛

We are proud to share that our CEO, Marya Meyer, has been selected as Co-Chair of the Executive Leaders Peer Community at the Women's Funding Network. Alongside Tamara Winfrey-Harris, President of the Women's Foundation of Indiana, Marya will help lead conversations among executive leaders from across the women's philanthropy sector. This peer community will focus on navigating today's complex landscape, with discussions centered on financial resilience, leadership and governance, equity and inclusion, and adapting to political and social shifts.

This Gun Violence Awareness Month, we're shining a light on a critical reality: women are disproportionately impacted by gun violence. While the national conversation often centers on mass shootings and male perpetrators, this report exposes how gun violence intersects with domestic abuse, coercion, and control—issues that overwhelmingly affect women.

Gun violence is not just a public safety issue, it's a women's issue. Understanding the data is essential to creating safer communities for women and girls in Miami-Dade County and beyond.
