Narrative Movement explores the translation of scripted text into embodied performance 🔥

Course 2 of the Juggerknot Immersive Workshop Series is Narrative Movement with Kelly Bartnik. Through movement-based exercises and ensemble work, you will discover physical pathways into character, relationship, and story, all to develop scene work that communicates meaning beyond spoken language.

The class emphasizes presence, spatial awareness, and audience engagement. Designed for immersive and site-responsive theater practices.

Meet Kelly Bartnik 🔥

She was an original cast member of Sleep No More in both Boston and New York, originating the role of Bald Witch in one of the most celebrated immersive productions of the last two decades. She directed the first large-scale immersive theater show in the Netherlands, collaborated with Meow Wolf, and has performed and taught at institutions across the country.

This September, she is bringing her movement practice to Miami as part of the Juggerknot Immersive Workshop Series at The Bass Museum of Art.

Every world begins as a feeling before it becomes a place 🔥

Course 1 of the Juggerknot Immersive Workshop Series is World Building with Ashley Brett Chipman. In this workshop, you will learn to take your ideas and build something solid from them, including a moodboard, a color story, a soundtrack, and a set of rules only your world obeys. You will leave with the beginning of a world bible and a method you can return to every time you start something new.

Designed for writers, designers, filmmakers, actors, dancers, game makers, and anyone building a fictional world from scratch.

Meet Ashley Brett Chipman 🔥

She has spent over a decade building worlds for the screen: for M. Night Shyamalan’s Servant on Apple TV+, for Ryan Murphy’s American Horror Stories on FX, and for productions on HBO, Netflix, and Sundance.

Then she asked what it would look like to build a world you could actually walk into. She founded Artemis is Burning and created The Death of Rasputin, one of New York’s most celebrated immersive productions.

This September, she is bringing her worldbuilding practice to Miami as part of the Juggerknot Immersive Workshop Series at THE BASS.
