Two days into the Miami Immersive Intensive and we are still just getting started. 🌴

Yesterday we went deeper. We moved our bodies, built worlds inside fictional ones, and learned what it means to design an experience from the inside out.

pushed us to think like choreographers. asked us to find truth inside a world that isn’t real. And .campos brought the day to a close in only the way Octavio can.

This is what immersive looks like. ✨

Flash mobs in shopping malls. Car wash operas. Motorcycle ballets. Immersive theatre in motel rooms, city streets, and recovery centers. This is Octavio Campos — and he has been doing this long before anyone called it immersive.

A Cuban-American performance artist, choreographer, and self-described community agitator, .campos has spent more than forty years blurring the line between ritual, rebellion, and performance. Trained under the legacy of Pina Bausch at Germany’s Folkwang Hochschule, he has worked alongside Robert Wilson, Philip Glass, and global visionaries across continents and communities. He brings rigor and mischief to every space he enters — whether a stage, a street, or zero gravity.

His longtime collaboration with Juggerknot Theatre Company and Live Arts Miami has helped redefine Miami’s performance scene — and we are so proud to welcome him back to MII for a second year.

At the Intensive, Octavio leads the Collective Cool Down — a ritual close to a day of training that is equal parts release, reflection, and presence. If you know Octavio, you know there is nothing quite like being in a room with him.
