GOOD MORNING FAMILY!

Today, we proudly celebrate one of our very own, David Makwili, who has made history within the BISCEP organization!

David is the first African-born 🌍
(Zimbabwe 🇿🇼)student and BISCEP alumnus to continue his educational journey in the United States🇺🇸 from the continent of Africa.

He will be attending Barry University on an Institutional Merit Scholarship, where he will major in Finance! 🎓📚

David’s journey with BISCEP began during our 2025 installment, when Westminster International School students traveled to Miami and experienced life as host students at Miami Central Senior High School.

Today as we celebrated 7 years of BISCEP, I simply want to say thank you. 🙏🏿

To every donor, sponsor, volunteer, educator, parent, student, our village, and our international ambassadors, thank you for believing in our mission and helping us create life-changing cultural exchange opportunities over the past seven years.

We also had a wonderful time celebrating this afternoon at brunch with our BISCEP Board Members and our Africa 🌍 Bound family. Thank you for making the day so special.

Miami Central Senior High School, 🇺🇸 Ledumang Senior School(Botswana), 🇧🇼 and Westminster International School (Zimbabwe), 🇿🇼 for opening your doors, your classrooms, and your hearts.

What makes BISCEP special, and unlike many other student exchange programs, is that our students don't just visit a school; they become part of it. For 5 to 7 days, they attend classes alongside their counterparts, take academic subjects, and engage with faculty, staff, and the entire student body.

These photos capture our students experiencing daily life at our host school, Westminster International School located in Harare, Zimbabwe 🇿🇼, gaining firsthand insight into Zimbabwe's educational system and culture.
Our 10 Miami Central students were selected from a competitive pool of 40 applicants.

To earn this life-changing opportunity, students were required to write a 200–300-word essay, submit three teacher recommendations, maintain at least a B- average, and have fewer than 20 tardies during the school year.

At Blindfolded International Student Cultural Exchange Program 📓📝 (BISCEP), cultural exchange is more than travel, it's about learning, growing, and building lifelong global connections.
