🌍 BISCEP: Where Are They Now?
Then & Now: Ceraeya Grier

BISCEP is proud to spotlight former 2022 participant Ceraeya Grier, whose journey continues to reflect the values of leadership, service, and excellence fostered through the program.

A proud Miami Central High School Class of 2023 graduate and former Ms. Miami Central, Ceraeya has continued to pursue her passion for service, leadership, and healthcare since participating in the BISCEP student exchange experience.

She is currently a senior at Florida State University, majoring in Public Health and preparing to add Nursing as a second major. On campus, Ceraeya is actively involved in several organizations, including the National Council of Negro Women and the Alliance for Black Women, where she currently serves as Vice President after previously serving as Community Service Chair. She also served as Membership Chair for the Esther Funds Foundation.

In addition to her academic and leadership roles, Ceraeya works as an Emergency Room Technician at Tallahassee Memorial HealthCare, gaining valuable hands-on experience while pursuing a career in healthcare.

Looking ahead, Ceraeya plans to earn her Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) and continue her education to become a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA).

We are incredibly proud of Ceraeya's accomplishments and the example she continues to set for future BISCEP students. Her journey demonstrates how global exposure, education, and leadership can create lasting impact.

From Miami Central to Florida State University and beyond, Ceraeya continues to make BISCEP proud. 🌍🚀

Good Morning Facebook Family,

As we draw closer to our departure date for Zimbabwe, 🇿🇼 I find myself reflecting on the journey that BISCEP has taken over the years and the future of this work that means so much to so many young people.

I am incredibly proud to share that, through grassroots fundraising and the support of our community, BISCEP has raised more than $150,000 to provide international educational opportunities for students from Ledumang (2020), Miami Central (2022), and Westminster (2025)

Every dollar has come from people who believed that our youth deserve the opportunity to see the world, experience new cultures, and broaden their understanding of who they are and what they can become.

At the same time, the reality is that the landscape has changed. Budget cuts, reductions in DEI initiatives, and the loss of funding sources that once helped support programs like ours have made it increasingly difficult to sustain this work. If BISCEP is to continue serving students for years to come, we must evolve.

Because of that, our 2026 students, will be the last group traveling abroad from a single school. This is not the end of BISCEP, it is the beginning of a new chapter. Our vision is to expand opportunities to students from multiple schools throughout Miami-Dade County and beyond, creating an even greater impact in the years ahead.

Today, however, our focus is on the students preparing to depart in just a few weeks. We have committed to this journey. Airline deposits have been made. Hotel accommodations have been secured. Transportation and group reservations have been also made. These students have worked hard, their families have sacrificed, and our community has invested in this dream.

We cannot turn back. We can only move forward.
With more than 6,100 people connected to me on this page, I am asking our community to come together one more time for these young people. Whether your contribution is large or small, every donation brings us closer to ensuring that no student is left behind and that this life-changing experience becomes a reality for all of them.

When I say I have love 🫶🏾 for my poetry family, I absolutely mean that.

On behalf of Blindfolded International Student Cultural Exchange Program, I want to sincerely thank everyone who came out to Roots for an incredible evening of poetry and spoken word. The venue was packed, the energy was amazing, and the love shown for our students was truly overwhelming. As we prepare to travel to Zimbabwe in just 25 days, your support means more than words can express.

May Reign, Will Seri'us, Sarahca Peterson, and Jorey Lyric Cross/Salam the Poet thank you for sharing your gifts and standing with BISCEP. Your continued support over the years has been a blessing, and I am deeply grateful for each of you.

The community showed up and showed out. Thank you to the Roots Black House for your support of this initiative. Together, we are helping create a life-changing experience for our students and building bridges that extend far beyond borders.

Lastly, please keep our featured poet, M'Reld Green, and her family in your thoughts and prayers. 🙏🏿 Unfortunately, she was unable to join us because her mother became ill, and she remained in Chicago to be by her side. We are sending love, 💗 strength, and well wishes to her mother for a full and speedy recovery.
