Happy birthday to The Man, the myth, and the legend. Mike Grossman!! Without Mike, our show would be dark and silent… no lights and no sound… while that sounds like a fun idea… it would be awful. He is so talented and we are grateful that he is part of our team. Happy birthday, Mike!

Everybody say happy birthday to Kyle!!!!!
We cannot thank Kyle enough for everything that he contributes to Friends of Brandywine. Not only is he the most fantastic guitar player west of the Toad Creek, he is our sound tech who does the most fantastic job with the live sound mix of our group. Without Kyle, Wagaman would sound even worse.

We are so glad to have you buddy! Happy birthday to you!

We have some fantastic news to share!! This morning friends of Brandywine signed a contract with Spirit Airlines. They will be the new preferred travel provider for Ricky’s Retirement Community.!! Refunds for previously scheduled flights will still not be granted, however, for those of retirement age, your standing room only ticket, will bring you right to our front door! What a way to start our week!

Decades ago! Back in 1960.
Out came a boy! A beautiful Bae
‘Twas quite the blessing, for Oscar and Faye.
What a child they said, as they looked with a stare.
The legs of an antelope, and look at that hair.
Not a lock out of place, what are the odds?!
Must be a gift. One from the gods.
Their dreams of a family, so large and robust.
Shattered by their boy, they said this one’s enough.
David? William? Stewart? The new parents pictured….
The child open one eye, exclaimed; Call me Richard.
66 years ago! As Legend will tell
A Birth! A Celebration! A Friend! Ring the Bell!
If you see this man walking Home Avenue or Smith,
Just know he’s a legend, he is real. No Myth.
He’s a busy man, between work, sleep and whoopie.
But in this day we say, Happy Birthday Shuppy!

We had such a great time at the annual Kutztown Hobos Gala last evening! Everything was fantastic… especially the entertainment! Frank Sinatra knocked it out of the park. Mike and JQ also got to make a special appearance.

We appreciate everything that Kutztown Hobos does for our community. We value our partnership and friendship with all of them! Great job all!

Last night, our Friends of Brandywine Board of Directors presented a check for $50,000 to the Brandywine Heights Area School District School Board.

These funds will directly impact several key initiatives across the school district. A significant portion of this funding will support the Summer Meal Program, ensuring that students have access to nutritious meals, even when school is not in session.

Additionally, this contribution will provide a dual enrollment tuition sponsorship, helping students in financial need offset the cost of earning college credits while still in high school and expanding access to advanced academic opportunities. The remaining funds are as designated for a future project, allowing the district flexibility to address, emerging needs or invest in innovative programs that will further enhance student experiences and outcomes.

Friends of Brandywine also still supports and funds the holiday meals throughout the year for underprivileged students and their families.

We could not accomplish these goals without the support of our friends and attendees of our yearly show! From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for being a friend!

Well folks, as they say in show business, That’s a Wrap! We cannot express how grateful we are to all of you who came out last weekend to tour Ricky’s Retirement Community!!! Because of your support, and four SOLD OUT shows, we were able to raise over $60,000!!!!!

We want to especially thank Lyons Fire Company who were more than accommodating and generous to us as their residents for over a week! Chris, Ryan, Heather, Steph, Donna, Todd and Mandy and Steve, you are all amazing and we love you all!

To our show sponsors for their generous donations and to all of our guests….Thank you! You are awesome and we are humbled. We hope you had a great time, and we surely hope to see you next year! Time to start planning…. Thank you for being a friend!

This morning, Friends of Brandywine once again purchased food to provide over 50 complete Easter meals for families in our Brandywine Heights community. We would like to also thank Trinity Lutheran Church in Topton and Weis markets in Kutztown for their generous donation of Easter baskets and a discount off of the food invoice!! We are so humbled to be part of this fantastic community!

And finally, we would like to thank all of our friends once again for your continued support of our organization!! From the bottom of our hearts, Thank you for being a friend!!
