We are part of the largest child advocacy group in the nation!

Fairfax County Council PTA is the leading voice in Fairfax County for students and families, supporting and representing 175 PTAs with more than 20,000 members. The Fairfax County Council PTA (FCCPTA) is very excited to be an active partner with our local school units and the Fairfax County community as we work together to provide our children with the highest quality educational environment and opportunities available. Through our efforts our children have opportunities to excel and take advantage of so many wonderful programs. We exist to positively impact the lives of all children and families by representing our members and empowering and supporting them with skills in advocacy, leadership, and communication. We exist to:

Foster communication between and among units to share best practices and common concerns. Provide a unified, effective voice in relationships with the School District(s) and community partners which include our local city, county and state offices and officials, our local business community, parents and the community at large. Link the Fairfax County area PTAs with the resources, support and advocacy of the Northern Virginia District, Virginia & National PTA organizations. Be the leading voice advocating quality education and a nurturing environment for all of our children.

🍂 Thank you to everyone who joined us for our October 5 General Membership Meeting at the FCPS Gatehouse Center!

✅ Members unanimously passed a resolution supporting the 1% local sales tax referendum for school maintenance and construction.

🎤 We heard from Superintendent Dr. Michelle Reid, plus presentations on the Fairfax County Youth Survey and the Northern Virginia Enrichment Coalition.

💙 Thank you, FCCPTA community!

Thank you to everyone who joined our October 5 General Membership Meeting and helped move forward the motion to pursue and advocate for a dedicated local sales tax referendum up to 1% for FCPS school construction and maintenance to reduce the 42 year renovation cycle and $400 million deferred maintenance backlog. Your participation helps shape our advocacy for students, families, and schools across Fairfax County.

A special thank-you to Dr. Michelle Reid for joining us, sharing updates, and taking time to connect with our PTA community. We appreciate the opportunity to learn and talk together about our schools.

Today is National Custodian Appreciation Day, and FCCPTA joins our school communities in saying thank you.

Our custodians do so much more than care for buildings. They greet students, help staff, prepare spaces for PTA events, and keep our schools welcoming and ready for each day. Their care and dedication make a difference to our children and families.

🎨 Is your PTA or PTSA participating in Reflections this year?

The 2026–2027 theme is “What My Culture Means to Me.” Students in Pre-K through grade 12 can submit original work in dance choreography, film production, literature, music composition, photography, or visual arts. An Accessible Arts division is also available.

We recommend launching and announcing your local program to students by October 20. Local officers and Reflections coordinators should register with FCCPTA so we can provide the information, resources, and support you need.
