WOW! How seniors showed up for fun today!! A day full of Halloween fun starting with a spooky time at Bingo with special prizes and then a costume contest! We always love when our seniors come ready for a good time and today was no exception!

Our 1st place for the ladies was Ms. Piggy (Darlene) and 2nd place was a witch (Ms. Margaret). The 1st place gentleman was the Cowardly Lion (Mr. Ben) and 2nd place was Fred Flinstone (Danny).

Janice Lantz, Executive Director of Pendleton Senior & Family Services Inc., received the Kathryn "Gene" Salem Award at the annual WV Directors Conference in Morgantown, WV on October 20, 2026.

This award is presented annually by the WV Directors of Senior & Community Services. This award honors individuals who demonstrate selflessness to seniors and the community, show a long-term commitment to improving the aging network, and have had a significant impact on the lives of senior citizens. This is a prestigious recognition within West Virginia's senior service community.

Under Janice Lantz's direction, the senior center has grown into a resource the county can be proud of. Her selfless service includes making difficult, sometimes unpopular, decisions with the organization's and county's best interests in mind. She has expanded programs and opportunities for seniors, supported successful fundraising to address government funding shortfalls, and strengthened community partnerships through service on local boards.
