The Commission accomplished even more than usual today. This morning the trail crew made our usual rounds clearing trails and taming invasive species. In the afternoon we met with experts from the UNH Extension Service and NH Department of Agriculture to assess our work over the past two years to manage the bittersweet in the fields at Barnard Ridge Road. The conclusion was we've made good progress and it's time to move to a new phase next summer, which unfortunately will involve careful use of a selective herbicide that affects bittersweet but not grass. Stay tuned for more news on this ongoing effort.

It was a long day, but what a beautiful day to be working outside in Meredith. Thank you all for your support!

Today the Trail Crew had a well deserved easy day on the Quarry Loop Trail at Page Pond. We cut overhanging branches, cleared drainages, and removed fallen branches and trees from the recent storm. Then we ended with coffee and C***r Bellies donuts at Mountain Farm!

If you've ever thought about joining the fun, October is a great time as the trails are even more beautiful than ever right now.
