LRKC Inc held 2 very successful AKC Detective Scent Work trials on 9/27/26 at the Meredith NH Community Center. There was great searching by all teams and so many diverse breeds were represented including, PWDs, GSDs, Spaniels, GSPs, Corgi, Toller, Bull Mastiff, and All American. Rose Decie was judging and set a tough first search in the gym and adjacent outdoor area with no qualifying runs, unfortunately. It was fun to watch the dogs make a beeline for the hide on the bubblers across the gym and then navigate the high hide that filled the space between the double doors with anise. The second search at the other end of the building saw 3 teams earn Qs and the coveted lovely rosettes for their efforts. Despite the storm we were relatively dry with minimal wind. Thanks to Marc Berger and Judy Pollard, co-chairs, Pat Berger, trial secretary and Larry Anderson for gate stewarding. We appreciate Elaine Loranz and Arthur being our Demo Dog team. Q or not, it is a great accomplishment to be able to run at the Detective Dog level, having earned a Master level title in the odor division classes. That wraps the 2026 Scent Work trial season and we hope to see all of you join us in 2027.
