☀️⚽ Summer sports offer more than exercise—they help build important protective factors that support youth health and well-being.

Through sports, youth can:
✅ Build positive relationships with coaches and teammates
✅ Develop confidence and self-esteem
✅ Strengthen communication and teamwork skills
✅ Learn responsibility and goal-setting
✅ Stay engaged in healthy, structured activities
✅ Feel connected to their community

These protective factors can help youth make healthy choices and reduce the risk of substance use.

Encourage your youth to stay active, connected, and involved this summer through sports and other positive activities!

Research shows that youth who stay engaged in their communities are more likely to develop healthy habits and make positive decisions.

Looking for ways to keep youth active and connected this summer? Explore opportunities through your local library, YMCA, community organizations, and county event calendars to help make this summer fun, enriching, and memorable.
