At this time there are no future plans for the event.

But, as of 4/2/2026 The Scouting council that controlled the event known as "Bay Jammer" has turned the event over to a private individual.

This change allows this individual to evaluate the future and what it may hold for the event.

Winterfest is an exciting, fun-filled, and competitive event for Explorers, Venturers, Sea Scouts & older Scouts BSA troops. Winterfest is a 2-day event filled with law enforcement, Fire/EMS competitions, aquatic and STEM events, shooting sports, climbing, sports tournaments.

What if?

I was thinking tonight what if? What if bay Jammer happened this year? Who would come, who would win, who would I meet? What memories would be created at #77?

I did a little search on Facebook for Bay Jammer and found two posts that I don't remember ever seeing before. One was a aerial view of the swim pier with the old swimming lanes. the other was from a person who found an old scrapbook from a unit that attended bay jammer many moons ago. I enjoy people sharing memories about this great event:

So tonight, I started thinking differently about What if? What if Bay Jammer never happened? I cannot fathom the memories created over the 75 years and thousands of participants to this event, those would have never of happened.

I still struggle with the decision to end this event. On the council's part, on my part. Trust me it was not easy.

So as I think about What if, i decided not to speculate, Im just going to go with what i know.

I know I am a "Bay Jammer"

For 75 years Bay Jammer has created memories for those scouts that have made the journey to the bay shore in Menominee Michigan. Over these years there has been a lot of memories, but unfortunately, there will be no new memories made.

Bay Jammer has had a phenomenal run, and this post is here to inform you that it has ended with #75, I am sorry that we started advertising #76, but for many reasons, it will not continue.

I would like to speak on behalf of the gentleman that started this event in that small cabin on the Menominee river in the late 40’s, from John Turner, the first chairman, to Telly, that last chairman, and everyone in between, including participants, adults, staff, volunteers, the M&M Community, thank you.

Thank you for making this one of the oldest and longest events in the history of the Boy Scouts of America.
