There was a misprint in the local newspaper for the Memorial Day breakfast at the Menominee American Legion. The newspaper stated the veterans were free. However, that was a misprint. It should have read: Menominee American Legion Memorial Day Breakfast is $12.00 and kids 10 and under are free. Sorry for any inconvenience.

Our American Legion auxiliary poppy chairmen Jane Cross and Mary Ihde went into local elementary classrooms to teach third graders about the history of the poppy. The students then made pictures of what they learned. The auxiliary gave prizes to the first, second, and third place winners of the poppy picture contest. The pictures are up on the wall at the legion. The pictures on the left side are from Menominee Elementary School and the pictures on the right side are from Catholic Central in Menominee. Thank you to our auxiliary for teaching the meaning of the poppy to the next generation.
