A huge thank you to the Nu Bunnag Art Show & Sale! On Sunday, May 31st, She presented the Conservancy Friends of Aquarina with a check to support our work. Nu worked incredibly long hours to make this show a success, and it wouldn't have been possible without the dedication of so many amazing volunteers. These funds will go directly toward education, conservation, restoration, preservation, and recreation on the Barrier Island, especially within the Archie Carr Preservation area. 🌊🎨🙌

Dear Neighbors and Friends,

Thank you to everyone who joined us for our Earth Day Town Hall yesterday! It was truly heartening to see such a wonderful turnout of over 70 residents, all coming together to support the environmental health of our community.

Our speakers shared invaluable insights, and it was clear how much passion there is for protecting our local habitat. The energy in the room was palpable—so much so that our speakers were still deep in conversation long after the event was scheduled to end! It was a pleasure to witness such engaged dialogue among our community members and guests.

I am also thrilled to share that, thanks to your generosity, we raised a total of $1,455 ($1,105 through our raffle and $350 in contributions). These funds will go directly toward supporting the Conservancy’s ongoing conservation initiatives.

It truly takes a village to protect the place we call home, and I am so grateful to have such a dedicated and involved community by my side. Thank you for making this event such a resounding success.

We look forward to seeing you at our next event!

Warmly,

Diane Coleman

First celebrated on April 22, 1970, Earth Day was founded by U.S. Senator Ga***rd Nelson as a national "teach-in" to protest environmental degradation following a massive 1969 Santa Barbara oil spill. It mobilized 20 million Americans, leading to the creation of the EPA and landmark environmental laws. The event went global in 1990 and now engages over 1 billion people annually
